I guess it's more of a 2 week pickup tournament than a "league".  For anyone who thinks it would be so easy for the players to start their own mega-revenue generating league here's the harsh reality that it's not.  Looks like it's just a way for the players to stay in shape and play against top tier competition.  I believe both JO and PP both have homes in the area which explains their planned participation.

Sounds cool, I would definitely check that out.  I like this part (from the hoopsworld link within the Slam article):

Many players have already started communicating with their teammates and friends around the NBA, which means entire NBA squads could play if they so desire. With so many teams meeting up for workouts and minicamps this summer, this league could be a way for teammates to stay sharp and on the same page.

It would be pretty cool to see a team of Celtics out there.

The advantage of this lockout over the '99 one is mass media. In 1999 They probably didn't see anything about basketball for weeks and weeks until ESPN showed something.

There will be lots of scoring and minimal defense.  Have any of you guys been watching the highlights from Kevin Durant's pickup game summer tour?  He's basically been putting up 45-60 points a game in 130-125 shootout type games.
