Saw this earlier today and it made me so excited. Grover is known for helping Michael Jordan bulk up to beat the Pistons and recover from his injury. He also helped Dwayne Wade recover and get back to where he is today.

If he helps JaJuan bulk up, I can't imagine his ceiling. He was a 20/10 machine in college with his only knock being his weight. If he put on a lot of muscle and then learned under Garnett for a few years, he could be our starting PF, and a good one at that.

These are all a lot of ifs, but JaJuan is definitely taking the right steps for a rookie during this lockout, he should definitely try to train under Garnett this offseason as well.

I've been watching the NCAA very closely the last two years, and these two kids, (E'Twaun and JaJuan), were two of my favorites before we were lucky enough to have them drop to us. I would love to see both of them on the parquet in green, and I'm hoping that works out.

Not only are they very talented and athletic, they are mature and full of intergity and character. They also come with a unique chemistry and respect for one another, and that's something you can never take for granted when building a team for the future.

I think this is going to be an exciting year if the lockout ends, (yeah, big "if"), and I would really enjoy seeing these young guys be a part of that. I know Danny still has a thing or two up his sleeve, but for sheer enjoyment's sake, I hope they don't include losing these two rookies.

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Don't have the link on me but I read that he s going to work on his core and lower body strength with Grover.  He said he's not stressing bulking up, but is aware he needs to get stronger.  I see JJ as another Big Al, we re going to continue to implore him to bulk up,  Rumors ill pop up every summer that he's added 20, even perfectly angled photos will be taken where he looks bigger.  But he'll stay relatively the same and only experience natural growth with age.

He's in great hands.  I hope he works hard and gets a leg up on some of the other rookies who will be slacking

I think the difference with JuJuan Johnson is he seems like a guy with a great motor and a work ethic to match. I always felt, and still do feel, that Al Jefferson never had a great motor, work ethic or passion/desire. Maybe it's just Big Al's demeanor out there on the court as I don't really know the inside scoop on Big Al...

But Johnson seems to have that raw emotion and passion coming out of him.

And as long as he gets a lot stronger I'm not so much concerned with how big he looks..

But he's already 220 right? So if he can add 5-10 pounds of lower body muscle and strength and 10-15 pounds of upper body muscle and strength, he'll come in at around 235 to 250, which would be more than enough.

I've also heard other reports that while he's thin he's not afraid of contact and that he's a lot stronger than he looks.

But I do agree with the OP, that we will be seeing some pics on how he's jacked and will be coming into camp at 265...  :)

packing 40 lbs is kinda hard, say the lockout ends and the season starts again

training camp around oct? so basically hes going to pack 40 lbs in 2 months...thats pretty hard to do, but ill be impressed enough if he comes to camp at 235 or even 240...

My target for him was to add anywhere from 15 to 30 pounds over the next 2-3 months. But most importantly just get stronger. The 265 mark was a joke...

I think adding 15-20 pounds over 2-3 months should be a fairly easy task for a 21 year old kid with nothing to do but workout with personal and highly professional trainers 24/7 for 2-3 months.

If I could have done that in my early 20's, I'd have turned into a house in 2-3 months time.

Nobody talks about his speed. He can flat out book, that and his leaping ability make him a very different player than Big Al - plus he can stretch the floor with his shooting. The ability to put him, Rondo and Jeff Green on the floor must have Doc salivating right now.

This is a great point Gar. I remember watching some footage of him around draft time.

I kept watching one particular because I couldn't believe how fast he got down the floor for a big man.

I mean, he put his head down and just tore up the court, finished on the other end. It was impressive for a big man at the college or pro level.

He is no KG, but he does have some similar traits:
* Apparently a good work ethic and a very good head on his shoulders
* Long & Lanky coming into the league - KG was also a string bean
* Decent outside shot
* Good motor - mentally and physically.

KG is one of a kind, but I really think this kid has a very good shot at being a solid long term contributor in an NBA rotation.

As you mention, he adds another style of play at the powe forward position for Doc to use.

Rondo / Green / Johnson
Bradley at the two in the right match ups?

A-l-o-t of speed at four positions.
