  • Thank you Eddie!
We all know that the only people under contract after next year are Pierce and Rondo, that Howard is a free agent next year, and that the Celtics probably won't win the title this year even in a 50 game season unless everything goes right.  Was a lockout and no 2012 season part of Ainge's plan when he built this team?  How many other fanbases should be rooting for a cancelled season?

no.  whether it's cancelled or not, those contracts will expire next summer.  if the season isn't cancelled, we at least get to see the Big 4 play together for at least 40 or 50 games -- probably their last stint together.

the only positive to the season being cancelled might be that players like dwight and CP3 would make it to free agency simply because their teams wouldn't have the chance to trade them before their contracts expire.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

no, it also would likely not give us the clipper pick. because im not sure how they'd award the lottery. The clippers look like they will improve this year and win enough games to get us a pick in the 11-15 range.

also, we'd have another chance to contend with the "big 4" depending on how free agency pans out

as a basketball fan and as a Celtic fan, the answer is no.  I want the season to pick up right on schedule if at all possible.  A shorter season benefits every team, not just the C's.  A missed year benefits no one.

What sort of fan would you be if you're hoping your team won't play at all? Show some support for a team that's soundly beaten the free agents you've mentioned.

Exactly, I would love Celtics year-round ... I get enough green-withdrawal as it is every summer! No way I want to go without ... for any reason.

Well, I want to come up to Boston for the first time and see the current and only "Big Three" play before it's over. And I was going to do that.

So my answer is no!

Rooting for a canceled season is like planning on decapitation to cure a headache.
