That sounds good....has a nice ring to it...

Two kids with Chemistry coming to our squad.  Nice move.  But Rondo throwing lobs Jajuan sounds fun..

Now.. I would not mind shipping baby of town if

A) he wants big $$$, if not sign him to another 3/4 mil

B)Doc will play the kid JJ, he normally does not play rookies..(4  years with an high IQ, he might ~Gomes with more moves than a uhaul). If not we need to keep baby unless we him trade for a replacement.

Over under on how many lobs Rondo will throw to JJ in his rookie season.  I say 32.  Yeap!

we can nab another solid two that can play D and shoot the three...If Doc can trust this kid.

If doc has no other veteran options he has to go with young talent like he did with Powe and BBD in 2007-08.

So I say try and sign + trade BBD for a relatively cheap SG who can defend and be a spot up shooter. I s Raja Bell a free agent? he would be a decent fit for a year. or trade BBD for someone like that.

That way he will be forced to play Johnson, you can find another BBD insurance PF with the vet min or part of the MLE. Guys like Craig Smith, Powe, Chuck Hayes would give you a vet PF that can give you 3rd string mins or play for johnson if he struggles at times.

MIKKI MOORE ...  :( (I HATE TO BE A DOWNER BUT ... C'MON.) ... FREE AGENCY DANNY! ... MAKE THOSE MOVES!

Both Johnson's and Moore's numbers as seniors:

20.5 points on 49.4 FG% 80.9 FT% 8.6 REB 2.3 BLK 1.6 TO 1.6 PF JaJuan Johnson
11.7 points on 58.3 FG% 70.1 FT% 7.4 REB 2.7 BLK 2.5 TO 3.2 PF Mikki Moore

But Spoon said it better.

What? He is nothing like Mikki Moore. Johnson was a far superior player in college to Mikki Moore. The guy was Big Ten Player of the Year. Moore was never even drafted. Johnson also has an offensive game. Something Moore never developed.

You need to look at more players since they are nothing alike other than they both can block shots.

Johnson also won this year's Pete Newell Big Man Award. If you look at the award's history it bodes well for his NBA prospects.

2011: Jajuan Johnson
2010: Greg Monroe
2009: Blake Griffin
2008: Micheal Beasley
2007: Greg Oden
2006: Big Baby
2005: Andrew Bogut
2004: Emeka Okafor
2003: David West
2002: Drew Gooden

wow this itself already convinces me that Johnson will be a good player in 2-3 years

Although I suppose we shouldn't leave off:

2001 Jason Collins
2000 Marcus Fizer

  • Rondo = Good

Even Jason Collins had a respectable NBA career, I suppose.  A rotation guy on an NBA Finals squad, anyhow.

Rajon to Jajuan... has a ring to it.

Wouldn't mind hearing Tommy belt it out once a game next season.
