As titled: What do you think is the best case scenario and the worst case scenario this off season for our roster?

Best:
Rondo, Delonte, Avery
Ray Allen, Von Wafer, Marquis Daniels
Paul Pierce, Jeff Green
Kevin Garnett, BBD, Troy Murphy (making a comeback)
Jermaine, Jeremy Tyler (clicking with the Celtics), healthy Gren Oden for cheap or Dalembert (our future C)

Worst:
Rondo, Delonte
Ray Allen, Von Wafer, Reggie Jackson
Pierce, Jeff Green
Kevin Garnett, second round bust
Jermaine

5 veterans free agents with injuries galore, contributing nothing.

your "best" situation is really more of a "likely" situation.  I think we're more likely to get Foster and Pryzbilla as centers than Oden and Sammy.   At a minimum, I think they'll each get an MLE contract  and probably more from whoever signs them.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

My Best :

Rondo , Sam Cassell
Kevin Martin, Ray Allen
Paul Pierce, Larry Bird, Lebron James (So we can use his tears for water to replenish our players.)
KG, Amare Stoudemire, Serge Ibaka
Dwight Howard, Derick Fisher (We will make him play center! Buwahaha!)

That's a team for ya.

My Worst,

Derick Fisher, Blake
Kobe Bryant, Shannon Brown, Trey Johnson
Ron Artest, Matt Barnes, Luke Walton
Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Joe Smith
Andrew Bynum, Theo Ratliff

Brrr...Gives me the chills...
I like Marcus Smart

I have a feeling theres going to be alot of "Vets" on our team this year...Danny wants to keep his flexibility for 2012...so he's only giving out 1year deals...I wouldnt be surprised to see a few High risk-high reward type guys...who if they pan out could bring some good scoring off the bench

They're risky in terms of health. but who knows with a training camp, maybe some of these vets can contribute...and maybe Danny will get lucky and lure some Free agent to take less than what theyre worth for a chance to get a ring

This isn't best or worst case scenario, but I'd like to see DA make some savvy moves with the following budget signings:

1. Mike Dunleavey - Minimum 1-year contract for 40% three-point shooter who has almost never been in a winning situation (hence the motivation to take the minimum w/ the Cs).  Provides bench scoring.

2. Reggie Evans - Part of MLE (I know, I know, if it exists) for 1 year or about $2.5 million.  11.5 boards in 27 minutes per game last year.  Replaces BBD and actually rebounds.

3. Fesenko - Other half of MLE for three years. As suggested in another CelticsBlog thread, he's active and physical and you can't teach 7'1'' and 280.  Back-up center who won't clog future cap space in a significant way.

4. Jeremy Taylor - Draft big man with upside who will have time to develop behind vets and get scared out of his mind guarding KG in practice.

You made a mistake, you labeled the roster with Big Baby as "best case scenario".

Best case scenario...

Trade Rondo, resigned Davis, Clippers pick, and a future first to NOH for Chris Paul.

Sign DeAndre Jordan to a 3 year full MLE deal.

Jeff Green signs the Qualifying offer.

Sign Chuck Hayes for the LLE.

Resign West and Wafer.

Sign Anthony Parker for the Vet minimum.

Draft Tyler Honeycutt.

Sign some vet minimum guys...

PG: Paul, West, vet min, Bradley
SG: Ray, Parker, Wafer
SF: Pierce, Green, Honeycutt
PF: KG, Hayes
C: Jordan, JO, vet minimum

Yep, this is pretty much a best case scenario.  I can't see the Clippers declining to match such a modest contract, though, even in dream world.
