As I understand it, the police have already done an investigation and Shaq has no ties to the kidnapping and is not a suspect in this case.

According to the article on TMZ where this was first reported:
Quote
We've learned LAPD detectives interviewed Shaq to determine what, if any, involvement he had in the alleged crimes.  When the case file went to the D.A. Shaq was not listed as a suspect

Take it for what it's worth.

Are you serious??  He might not be in direct trouble with the law, but making deals with known gangs to cover up his infidelity is hardly a resume enhancer, right???

Well first of all, I never said that he wasn't guilty or that this wasn't bad for his resume.  I don't know what happened since I'm not privy to the information in the private police report about this case, but if Shaq had 'made a deal' as you say then he most certainly would at least be listed as a suspect in the Police's report...right?  I mean, according to the official report there is no proof that Shaq had anything to do with this.  That's all I was saying.

At this point it's all unconfirmed here-say.

You are right.  It just seems rather incredulous that Shaq had no agreement here.  There might not be a paper trail, but I feel strongly that the odds are that he knew what was going down.

I agree, it is definitely a very strange situation.  TP.
