I think this Finals really reminds me of the 1974 title fight between Muhammad Ali vs George Foreman

Foreman was the Heat
-Bigger, stronger
-More athletic
-Younger
-Big and Bad villan
-Overpowered/dominated previous competition

Ali was the Dallas Mavs
-Older, more experienced
-Media had doubts if they can still perform on the highest level
-Uses smarts and guts to win games

Just like all the Finals games, Foreman was leading in the entire boxing match. Leading in all points on the scoreboards. It felt like Ali was so over-matched and would be severely bruised after that fight

But like the Mavs, Ali waited until Foreman got tired and worn out and started to pounce on him. Little jabs and uppercuts caught him off guard
And like the Mavs in game 6, Ali hit Foreman with the knockout blow that sent him to the canvas

A great upset. Ya'll agree?

I think this was one of those instances where the casual fan/observer and certain media types assumed that the Miami Heat would just role but if you asked the real basketball observers and those who really understood the game, they knew that Dallas had a very legitimate shot and the series was not lopsided by any means and it was very conceivable that Dallas could or even should've won the series.  There was a substantial amount of people out there who were saying before the series that Dallas would win.

This isn't quite an upset on the level of Foreman-Ali or Jets-Colts by any means.

Yea, totally agree. This wasn't that great great of an upset. I thought Mavs were gonna win anyway. But the parody is similar though
