Delonte was signed for the minimum this season so Boston doesn't have Bird Rights on him. With the team over the cap it would be nice for them to use the MLE on a FA acquisition.

Jeff Green can be resigned cause they have his Bird rights.

Glen Davis needs to go.

But West should be looked at as a key part of this team going forward, he showed what he can bring tonight against MIA. Plus he can play both the 1 and the 2 at a high level. Boston needs Delonte... but how much is it going to cost them?

Exellent question - probably half the MLE or so...he's a good quality player at the price but you just cant ever count on him to be available to play

Responding to the title...

A helluva lot more than Glen Davis.  ;)

Delonte is worth a lot to this team.  The only hesitation I'd have giving him a decent contract is that he's very injury prone.  But he proved in the playoffs that he can be a major contributor off the bench.

Market value -- $2-3 million, at most.

A decent chance he'll be available for the minimum contract again.

Delonte still has a lot of work to do to repair his reputation after how things ended in Cleveland + his injury problems this year have only held back those efforts.

If not for those two variables, I think he'd be looking at an offer similar to the contract Jarrett Jack signed with the Raptors last summer ($5mil per annum).

It only takes one team to bid him up.  If a team is willing to take a chance on him as a starter he's worth at least $7-8m.
But with his shortened season I doubt he'll get that many looks. That might turn out to be a blessing in disguies for the C's.  We really need this type of role player on our roster for a full year.

Not sure his value but he is a Celtic and he needs to stay one. He can step into the 1 or 2 spot when asked and also can start. Felt bad for Delonte he couldn't stay healthy this year and showed that when he was some what healthy which was this series he was affective. I love Delonte and should bring him back ASAP

Another factor is that Delonte can be a really unstable guy with the wrong guys/coach around him. He seems to really like playing for Doc and alongside Paul, Ray, KG, Rondo, and everyone else. I think Delonte would turn down more lucrative offers from a lot of other teams unless he was totally comfortable with what they were doing

I can't imagine we don't resign DWest. He knows this is the best place for him on multiple levels. He knows the city, the team, and most importantly, Doc and Danny. I think he comes back on a reasonable 2-3 year deal.

1 year for the bi annual exception which is currently what 1.8?

then if he can stay health he will be set to sign a multiple year contract for big money.
