14 points in 4Q Game 5
13 points in 4Q Game 4
16 points in 2Q Game 2
14 points in 1Q Game 1

All losses.  If you go back and look at all the games the C's dropped the past 3 months, you'll see a bunch of these stinker quarters.  In some cases you will find 2 in a single game.

I don't know what it is but this team goes on offensive droughts worse than any team in the league, even the bottom dwellers can score more consistently.

You are not going to win games by scoring 90 points in the NBA since the lowest team average is over 90.

All the great ball movement and easy buckets we saw the first 3-4 months of the season has all but disappeared.  Did everyone forget how to play without the Big Deisel in the middle?

We're old and we run out of gas.

It's not really hard to explain.

PP can't close games like he used (maybe he can) but that's not how we run our offense on this team.

We play a spread the wealth, no hero ball, equal opportunity brand of offense.

Which is why guys like BBD can get shots in the 4th quarter or Rondo can take jumpers in the 4th quarter.

Some nights, Rays legs will be there and he'll make those open 3's.

Some nights, Paul can close games out.

Some nights KG will be assertive in the post.

But those nights rarely happen consistently.

Those nights rarely happen in unison.

Our team's identity is defense anyways. We should be winning the games at the end of the 3rd....that's how were doing it in '08 and '09.

  • Rondo = Good
The days are gone when the Big 3 could carry this team on offense and defense all game and expect to close out the game, too.

Only way to prevent these 4th quarter collapses from happening is to acquire a new primary offensive option (either at PG or at PF / C) so that the Big 3 can take a few possessions off on offense and not give up the lead.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.
