1981 Comeback down 3-1
The Celtics succeeded in knocking off the 76ers in 1981 in seven games while on the way to their first championship in five seasons. It didn't become easy, though, as they were down 3-1 to the Sixers before rattling off three straight wins, similar to their 1968 comeback.

1968 Comeback down 3-1
In the Eastern Conference Finals, the Celtics became the first team in NBA history to rally from a 3 games to 1 deficit to win a series, as they knocked off the defending champion Philadelphia 76ers in 7.

Thanks for the video.  Was a good watch.

That said, guess what the 1981 team that the 2011 Celtics don't have?

1981 Larry Bird.  He ain't coming through that door.

The '68 team is probably a better place to look for hope, since I think they were pretty old, too.

I have seen several teams come back from 3-1 deficit.

But, here is a stupid question:  Did any of those comebacks occur when we didn't have game 7 at home (i.e. we had HCA going in)?

I cannot remember a team EVER coming back from a 3-1 hole having to win two road games.  I am not sure that has ever happened frankly.

The Celtics did not have home court advantage in 1968.

I believe that overall, 8 teams out of 94 who have been down 3-1 have come back and won. Don't know any other details.

I believe they wear the same color, Roy (Red and Black).

This would be an unbelievable task if the C's pull this off.

Wait....

What didn't Lebron (who wears #6) have last year....Wade (who wears #3)

The Celtics need to win 3 more games like Wade's #3!

That's not all....brace yourself, hold on to something sturdy.

What DO the Celtics have now...Jeff Green, he wears #8

of course Lebron's #6 + Green's #8 = 68....1968!

As they say....the numbers don't lie....all I can say is that we read you loud and clear Red.
