They played a great game today, with so much passion and grit
But... this loss hurts

It encompasses so many things
-That the series looks like a win for the Heat
-Celtics had a chance to win and tie this series

But mostly
-That...they may be too old

I love this group with all my heart, and was there when KG and Ray first formed with Paul Pierce to make a supergroup to win the title in their first year. All those years of Pierce losing with bad teams, and his prayers were finally answered

After the 2007 Finals, I was about to stop watching the NBA. I lost passion in it. It was all about one on one sportscenter plays, spoiled stars, too many touch fouls/soft play

But then this group came along and gave rebirth for my love of the NBA. It was all about heart, hustle, teamwork, defense, sacrifice. Bringing the old-school aspect to the new school. That 2008 was my high school graduation present, and I didn't need a gift after that lol

This may be the end of this group. They may even come back and win this series. But I would never forget the memories

I was hoping for an actual ode.

Disappointed.

That said, I'm sad too.  The next few years are going to be tough for Celtics fans, I think.  But I believe that with the right moves and some luck the Celtics can be right back up there before too long.  However, I don't think anybody currently on the roster is likely to be part of the next truly competitive group of Celtics.

Too many injuries this year to even have a realistic chance against these young teams. Old legs did them in again. Just can't score enough despite the great defense. This Heat team will probably win it all and beats you over the head with athletes.

It really was a great run and so fun to watch. This group put the C's back on the contender map. I'm not sure whether they should blow it up with a potential lockup coming. A shortened season may be a good thing. KG may hang 'em up though. He has looked pretty tired the past few months.

When they first got together I didn't think they'd be a one hit wonder :(

C's would have gotten at least one more if it weren't for injuries. I guess that's to be expected when you have an old team though.

Can't complain; at least they did win once.  It's entirely possible, with some bad luck, that they don't even win it in 2008.  If the Big 3 had gotten together a year or two earlier, who knows what might have been.

Oh well.

Good points on here. Think about the Rockets fans with Yao and T-Mac. The Mavs fans (could change now) Cleveland and Orlando fans. And Blazer fans. So much hope and optimism only to end up with nothing. Winning is insanely hard and thankfully the Celtics got one.

I truly think this team got screwed though. If they had the fortune from an injury standpoint like the Bulls of the 90s I seriously think they could have won 4 in a row.

Kg in 2009
Perk in 2010
Rondo in 2011 (had to have healthy against miami)

Year after year a key guy went down and couldn't contribute in the playoffs.

The injury bug just wouldn't give us a fair chance.

Sad. So Sad. But interesting to see what the future will hold. Green and Rondo have star potential. Rondo honestly is a star to some. That pick, if we get it, could be a high pick in a deep draft next season too.

DA has his work cut out for him, but he has the ability to come through.

God we've had some injuries even the young guys
