Spoelstra Already Starting to Panic.

He's starting to panic by making a change he literally should've made months ago? C'mon.

Well, how much sense does that make?

He obviously didn't want to change even when others thought he should. Now that he is possibly going to make the change he has been reluctant to do, it's safe to assume he is no longer confident in the lineup he spent the latter half of the regular season trying to make a cohesive unit.

To me, it shows him getting over stubbornness more than a display of panic.

I would be amazed if he made that much progress in a few days to be his regular self tonight. I am thinking more of an upgrade over Juwan Howard as the fourth or fifth big in Miami's depth chart. Maybe he can give them 5-10 minutes in the second unit against BBD.

Let's not forget that Haslem is the captain of the Heat.  The leadership he brings onto the floor is probably a much bigger concern than however productive he may be in limited time.

It was in one of the Miami papers. The Herald or the Palm Beach Post. About a week ago. An update on Haslem's situation and Spoelstra said he wasn't ready to play because he wasn't sharp enough in practice. His timing was off.

Haslem still improving

The Heat are sticking to their plan of bringing Udonis Haslem along slowly. Friday marked his fifth consecutive practice, but it's starting to look less likely he will play in this series. The concern is inserting him the lineup at such a key stage of the season.

Haslem has been out since tearing ligaments in his left foot in November.

"What it's made me do is have more discussion about it," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "He's getting closer, not quite there yet but he's making progress. That's the tough thing to gauge. He's coming into a season that's going hyper-speed. We want to make sure that when he is ready to come back that he would be capable of contributing at this pace and this speed, this intensity. It's tough when you miss so much time."

By the way, Haslem is playing tonight.. Interesting to see how this will affect their rotation

His 6'8" frame would really bother KG...

Thought he wasn't playing. But like anyone not named kobe, dirk, or rondo they will not be their usual selves.

Also, with the PG/C for MIA, their bench (1-5) is now Bibby, Miller, Jones, haslem, and Big Z. 3 of which have had little impact so far, haslem will be mehh for tonite, and jones will likely lose a few minutes (not much but still) with haslem back. While this will be hard for us matchup wise, its likely their bench won't be productive this game. More pressure on D Wade and Lebron.

God I hope Bosh chokes again tonight
