Great news for Thibs, he deserves it. He did a tremendous job in Chicago - without injuries they might've won 67-68 games.
Well deserved. I was actually pretty skeptical of Thibodeau being a good head coach; I thought he'd always be best as a defensive assistant.
Yeah, remember last year when Doc got ejected against the Rockets (?) and Thibs forgot to put in any subs for like a quarter and a half? I really wasn't big on his chances as a head coach, at least in the first year. Thibs proved me wrong too.
Thirded. An incredible job by him. He helped turn Rose from a below average defensive point guard to one of the best in the league, if not the best.
Everything i read says that rose is one of the worst defenders on that team; they have good team defense despite him being a bad defender still.
I don't buy it; so much of that is reputation. People talk about Rose and Boozer both being bad defenders, and yet they're both starting on the best defensive team in the league. I simply can't accept that.
For the record, in terms of individual defense, Rose's man shoots 37.2%. On iso's, opposing point guards are 32.8% against him. Spot up shooters average 31.5% shooting against him, and the pick-and-roll ball handler is converting 39.4% of the time. He allows 0.77 points per possession, which is 24th in the league (and tied with Tony Allen).
