You guys left out the second half of the quote,

"they're getting better, but you have to see how they play in the playoffs against a real Celtics basketball team."

How can you find harm in that?

I see no harm in this...he played well last game in NY, and I expect him and the remaining bench players to step it up.

If MIA is actually trying to use THIS as motivation then they are in bad shape.

They should have all the motivation in the world without worrying about what Boston players say.

Agreed.  If Miami even pays attention to this for any reason then we are in better shape than I though.

I wish Doc would tell Big Dummy to shut his mouth when it comes to the media, or else he'll bury him on the bench and play Green as the first PF off the bench. Just because Glen can draw a couple charges a game doesn't mean he's got the right to talk to the media about how much deeper we are than the Heat. Last I checked Glen, our bench has had some major recent struggles of their own.

Exactly, you prove the point of him saying this.

I don't like him giving our opponents extra motivation, but Glen Davis has historically backed up his big talk.

He once talked big about Dwight, and then immediately backed it up, even if he was wrong about Dwight still having the same old moves.

Maybe for an encore he could show a video of his hitting that buzzer-beater against the Magic in the 09 playoffs and mention that he probably made as many buzzer-beaters in that game as the Heat have made all season.

You mean we are going lose the series because BBD made them angry with his comments? That means we would have won it if he had kept quiet? Never imagined it would be so simple. How stúpido can you be, BBD?  >:(

Good one Dante!  Still, BBD's just trying to get them mad enough to charge at him in the paint.

In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I don't mind players that exude a little confidence. Some fans think that the players should wear sackcloth and ashes when they're in a slump.

(Hands over Eyes)

Baby in a sackcloth Nooooooooo!

When Bird talked he did it to motivate his team, the fans or instill fear in the other team.
When Baby talks its because he lacks the discipline to keep his mouth shut.  Ask Amare.
If KG, or Pierce, Ray Allen, Doc or even little 'ol Rondo want to then maybe it has merit.

Red Auerbach was a master of this.  Don Nelson, Phil Jackson, Pat Riley all have a special skill.

Baby, come on.  Someone throw him a bathrobe and a towel.  The bathrobe to cover up his sackcloth, the towel to insert into his mouth.

Let your game do the talking, Baby!

Exactly.

Player of his status/caliber should not be doing this kind of thing. Also it does light a fire on their team. Look how we 'react' when an idiot such as Joakim Noah makes stupid comments.

NO it's not as simple as 'we are going to win if he keeps his mouth shut'. Please don't go overboard. You get the point jebus.

He probably considers his status/caliber to be a major contributor to a contending team.
