Did anyone else notice what seemed like a lot of what I call "non basketball" plays where the Knick players were not making plays on the ball but just coming in and trying to level people.

They may not all be in the same game 4 but here are the plyas that stick out:

1. Someone put a hit on Pierce while he was in mid air that should have been a flagrant

2. The hit on Rondo by Carmelo

3. Carmelo's hit on Pierce when they were chasing down the ball

4. The guy who hit KG on a break away. I watched the replay five times and it looks like the guy just swung at KG, hit him in the head and made no play on the ball. Should have been a flagrant but no call..

and there were several other plays on rebounding where you'd see knick players just shoving guys under the basket with no real focus on the ball.

I realize it goes back and forth - but it seems like we got more of it and with alot of no calls.

Toughts?

Yup I noticed that aswell. What else would you expect though, the Celtics just swept them and they were getting blown out...again.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
I don't think we have a lot to complain about officiating wise from the last series. However, I did notice the physical tone the Knicks tried to set--they were trying to Bully the Bully, and it worked from time to time. I think the team scouting report on the C's says to hit them first and they will back down. I think we have lost some of our reputation as a "tough, physical" team, and took on a "soft" moniker for a while--like we're all bark and no bite. The playoffs are the perfect time to restore our tough reputation, and put a little fear back in the minds of our opponents.
