The article is well written, but I think we can attribute that to the reporter, not the player. Most basketball players are on the "undereducated" side. And the few who could write this wouldn't be dumb enough to call KG a punk. Not to mention, the smarter players are too PC and actually think about what they will say so they aren't the ones reporters would go to to write an article like this. So, I think it's fair to assume the reporter did enough summarizing to make it legible. I also assume that Player X is an actual reporter or behind the scenes guy at espn who uses random quotes he hears along with his own opinions to write an edgy column.
The fact that an actual player would believe KG even has the thought of fighting is funny to me. The point of trash talking is to get into someones head. To get them off their game. Make them try to do things they normally wouldn't do and in doing so to hurt their team. If KG were ever to throw a punch it would mean he lost that mind game, he's way too mentally tough and competitive to ever let that happen. KG is the ultimate team guy, he didn't bring an ego to boston and I don't thinke a lot of players, especially younger ones understand that that is possible. That being said, I believe that if these quotes were from a player it was someone like Andray Blatche. A player who may say the right team things at some point but will never truly understand the meaning of team. You can file Charlie Villenueva in that category too. Like Blatche he has been given the size and ability to be great and lead teams but never will because he'll never be bigger then his own ego. It takes a lot to actually look in the mirror and ask if you're doing absolutely everything you can in games, in practice, in the locker room, in the gym, in the offseason, to help your team be the best it can be. Most people just look in the mirror and admire themselves.
