  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I'm feeling a bit prophetic tonight so...

#1) The Nuggets will lose in the first round, and it won't be close. OKC will make them look silly.

#2) NY will get blown out of the water by the Heat, and we'll all be a little shocked by it, then realize we shouldn't be.

#3) Portland will beat the Mavs in 6 games.

#4) The Lakers will sweep Memphis (MAN! WHY AREN"T THE ROCKETS HERE!), and we'll all get really angry because they'll basically be a Lakers slurp fest.

So sad my Rockets aren't in the post season (don't hate me Celts are my primary team  :D) we've been playing inspiring ball as of late and have had one of the best records since the all star break. Heck both Chuck Hayes and Kyle Lowry posted triple doubles in a row. But ah, to little to late. The Rockets gave the Lakers a couple trouble a few years back, when we took them to 7 games. Von was a prime contributor on that team, sad for him to be a bench warmer now.

But Memphis has been playing great to

Non-Celtics predictions:

West -

1 vs. 8 (Spurs vs. Hornets)   Spurs win easily in 5 games.

2 vs. 7 (Lakers vs. Grizzlies) Grizzlies win one at home, which is a story because they've never won a playoff game.  Lakers in 5.

3 vs. 6 (Mavs vs. Blazers) Mavs in 6.

4 vs. 5 (Thunder vs. Nuggets) Nuggets in 6.  Nuggets win all of their home games and steal one in OKC.

East -

1 vs. 8 (Bulls vs. Pacers)  Bulls in 6.  Pacers surprisingly put up a decent fight.

2 vs. 7 (Heat vs. Knicks) Heat in 5.  Knicks manage to win one on their home floor, LeBron has some crazy stat lines and goes absolutely bonkers in front of the crowd at MSG.

4 vs. 5 (Hawks vs. Magic) Hawks in 6.  Trades for the Magic do not pay off.

That's just the first round.

Denver have a couple of games against OKC over the next few days. I am looking forward to those games. Have a better idea over whether they are able to knock the Thunder off or not after that.

I think Portland definitely has a chance to beat Dallas. The Mavs aren't playing that well + are very weak on the wings + are overly reliant on small backcourts + aren't that great offensively. They are vulnerable and Portland is a serious team.

Chicago will sweep Indiana. If the Pacers are lucky, they'll steal a game.

Miami will likely be stretched to 6 against New York but they'll always be the better team and they'll take it in the end.

Boston will take Phily in 5 or 6.

Atlanta will beat Orlando in 6 with many close games that come down to the final moments.

San Antonio and LA will take apart New Orleans and Memphis. Whichever one of those teams they are playing. New Orleans could take a game or two against San An but they won't be consistent enough to win the series.

Non-Celtics predictions:
West -
Round 1
1 vs. 8 (Spurs vs. Hornets)   Assuming good health for the Spurs, Spurs sweep with West out.
2 vs. 7 (Lakers vs. Grizzlies) Lakers in 5.  There'll be a couple of close games for the Grizzlies with TA and Powe looking good against LA
3 vs. 6 (Mavs vs. Blazers) Mavs in 6 and a very shaky 6.
4 vs. 5 (Thunder vs. Nuggets) Nuggets in 6.  OKC in 5.  Perk looks great for OKC -- anchors the team like a true leader.

Round 2
Spurs vs. OKC: Spurs in 7.  OKC gives them a real fight.
LA vs. Mavs: LA in 5.  LA is on a roll and looks really scary.  Dirk looks great but the rest of the team, not so much.

WCF
Spurs vs LA: LA in 6.  Kobe wants Shaq in the finals and plays out of his mind.  Pau, Odom and Bynum do a tune on SA's frontline.

East -
1 vs. 8 (Bulls vs. Pacers)  Bulls in 4.  clean sweep.
2 vs. 7 (C's vs. Knicks) C's in 5.  C's come out looking like they mean business and try to send a message they want the title this time.  (I know, this is not for the C's but I'm throwing them in anyway.)
3 vs 6 (Heat vs. Sixers) Heat in 7.  Sixers throw a real scare into Miami but Heat win out.
4 vs. 5 (Hawks vs. Magic) Magic in 5.  Magic have a relatively easy time with Atlanta which comes out looking horrible in this round.

Round 2
Bulls vs Magic: Bulls in 5.  Magic fade in this round as Chicago's D clamps down.
C's vs Heat.  C's in 7.  C's look amazing at home, like crap on the road with the Heat getting lots of help from the Stern-directed refs.

ECF
Bulls vs C's: C's in 6.  C's show the drive to win the title and gut out a tough series against a very quality opponent.  every game decided by less than 10 points. C's don't have to play against the refs as much as they did in the Miami series but a couple of games will have fans screaming about some obvious ref-bias for Chicago.

Finals.
C's vs LA.  C's in 7.  I think LA will have home court and C's will win 2 in LA while LA swipes 1 in Boston.  Tough series but the C's are healthy and have the bodies to throw at LA to keep them off the boards when it really matters in game 7.  PP gets another finals MVP trophy.  Refs are again biased against the C's as they were in the Miami but C's overcome to win it all.

Oh yes, I forgot David West was out.

So much for winning a game or two ... Spurs in four.
