When your best player gets traded, teams lose.

Simple.

ok in all seriousness, do you really believe this garbage your typing? Do you actually believe perk is better than KG, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen? Really??

Because without him they are barely an above .500 team. Look at their play. Without Perkins they arent a good team whatsoever. Proof is in the play.
What about the first 40 games of the season? they looked good without perk then.. They looked better than ever with Shaq than with Perk...

Screw perk he's on the thunder now, he's the enemy, we need Shaq and/or JO

Perkins was on the bench and the team knew their leader was coming back.

Of course they were going to win games, they had hope, and Perkins was helping the team moral by showing that as their leader and star, he was going to be back on the court to lead us to the title.
Sorry Mega but I respectfully disagree, while at the moment I believe we would benefit greatly from having perkins, I believe Shaq was the reason we were playing so well.
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

Shaq and Jo are walking injures

True dat :P

If Shaq played 25-30 games or whatever at the start lets just hope he can give us 25-30 playoff games... If that happens we're in good shape.

''Lead'' us to a title? Tell me when there was EVER a star on a team that played 15 minutes a game and didnt even play in crunch time? NAME ONE

Now though I will admit I wish we kept Perkins and just let Pavlovic backup Paul :P

Probably could have signed Gerald Wallace if we didnt get Green too. Oh well, C'est La Vie.

I could take 5 tests with a lucky hat on and get A's on every single test.  Maybe I got an A on those tests because they are subjects I am strong in, I studied for them, and got plenty of sleep ahead of time.  Or maybe it was all because of the hat.

I could then take a 6th test and get a C.  If I took that test without wearing my lucky hat, is that th reason I got a C, even if I also didn't study and got hardly any sleep the night before?  Was the reason for my success, and my subsequent lack of it, my hat?  Or was it something more rational?

If Shaq or JO comes back this is a non-issue. Especially if Shaq comes back healthy. I am past frustrated and now to the point of disinterested until the playoffs. They've lost homecourt, created an uphill battle to get to the finals, but they can do it. When healthy they absolutely abused every single top team out there without Perkins. Right before he went down again JO was actually playing very well.

Doc will shorten the rotation and you'll have Kristic and JO and BBD getting big man backup minutes. West will get almost all the backup PG minutes. Wafer and West will get minutes behind Ray. Green will get all the PP backup minutes. With the starting 4 reinforced by Shaq we won't be beat. Only if Shaq doesn't come back do we worry. I have a feeling he is purposely being held out longer than completely necessary to get him as healthy as we can for the playoff run. He showed at the first of the year he can step right in and be effective.

I wish I shared your optimism that Shaq is just being held out as a precaution, EJ. Seems to me that he is being held out because his foot still hurts.

I don't know...I'm beyond frustrated at this point. I feel like I am once again getting sold a bill of goods on this injury situation.

If Shaq comes back and immediately sits down again with pain I'm going to be inconsolable. This will then be a completely wasted season.

I love the optimism and hear what you're saying but regarding Shaq I just don't see him one year older now with the flaring up foot issue giving us much. I get the feeling he will be shut down every other game. Slow and in constant foul trouble.

haha thanks.

i was (rather flippantly) trying to demonstrate a poorly constructed causal relationship.

just because this team has been worse than .500 without Perk and better than it with him (in a relatively small sample of games) doesn't mean he is the reason.  just because i take my umbrella out of the closet tonight and it rains tomorrow doesn't mean it rained because i took the umbrella out of the closet.

in fact, it might be that the rain was going to come and i heard a weather report about it and that's why i took the umbrella out of the closet.  therefore, the rain caused the umbrella to be taken out, not the other way around.

I agree with you.
Perkins has barley played all year, and when he did he looked even slower (too me anyway). some are saying he was our best player and leader, and that his presence is immeasurable. i disagree. Kevin Garnett is our leader, and his defensive inflouence and presence is far greater then that of Perkins.

The trade had come down to getting something for a player who was on his way out. Shaq was supposed to soften the blow due to his play. Perk losing a step had nothing to do with his trade, how long it take KG to get back to form? Shaq and JO must be given their time to ease back in. Til then Krstic and Baby need the playing time and evaluation, which so far proves that both players should never see the floor with 1st unit if everyone is healthy.

aahhh yea the Meek Shall Inherit the Earth. Whatever is left of it when we are done.

Celts will come alive opening tip of the playoffs. Only thing to fear is fear itself. Many fans coming unglued. Weak kneed generations. Get a grip.

I'm in my forties so I hardly consider myself part of a weak kneed generation.  I am just tired of seeing these guys struggling with every single opponent.  Instead of putting teams away and saving some minutes on their legs against the weak teams, the starters seem to be on the court when the final buzzer goes off every single game whether they win or lose.

Indiana had so many easy looks last night in the 4th quarter that it made me wonder if the Celtics are gearing up for the playoffs or just playing out the tune of the regular season. Also, the Celtics only scored 7 points in the final 7 minutes against a team that is hardly known to be a defensive juggernaut.

I know I'm gonna hear stuff about last season, but this year's squad was supposed to be different.
