He has a killer 10/15ft set shot.

So why can we find those shots for BBD but not for Kristic?

Enough said.

Doc has some real trouble learning new players and the style they play. It was the issue they had with Finley and Nate last season and now this season with Krstic, Green and the other new guys.

It took him time to learn Nate and Finley and Nate finally fit in in the playoffs, maybe the same will happen with these other guys. Green, Troy and Arroyo will be needed in the playoffs especially when and if JO and Shaq can't play so it's essential that Doc learn fast.

However I still think that Nate's ineffectiveness and inconsistency this season before the trade is because Doc was using him wrong. With the Knicks he would dribble passed the defense and finish at the hoop or he'd do a step back shot also came off screens. With the C's he was a 3pt shooter only it seems and that is the wrong way to use him, he's not Ray Allen or Eddie House... not a 3pt specialist... he's a scorer.

True.

I wouldn't rely on Shaq too much though.  If memory serves me right,  Wasn't Shaq having a hardtime staying on the floor because of foul trouble?  I don't think that will change a whole lot when he returns.....so Kristic will see minutes and he could be such an offensive weapon.

We could be running the same plays we do for BBD on Kristic, instead of sticking the poor guy on the block where his weakness is exposed.  For the life of me, I can't understand it and should be such an easy call.....

That's a really tough position to be in for Doc.  You have been running a very similar offensive set for 3.5 years, then some stupid trades are made over half way through the fourth season and you have to make changes on the fly while preparing for the Playoffs.  Im sure they will have more defined roles next year (not that I think Doc will be back)

I remember Nate at the end of the Knicks bench not playing because the coach didn't think he was helping the team.  I don't think it is either coach's fault that Nate isn't that good.

One would guess that if he has a killer 10-15 ft set shot then teams would stay close to him when he's in that range as opposed to leaving Baby all alone.

I think the point is that Krstic should be able to get and make the same kinds of mid range shots that KG and Davis get.  They come off of very basic pick and pop type plays for the most part.  There is no need to change the offense.

I don't think Krstic was brought here to be the starter which is where we are stuck with playing him for now.  I think the plan was Shaq comes back and starts, possibly Jermaine gets some minutes too, and Krstic plays the role Erden played.

I don't think Krstic was just a throw-in, a mere upgrade to Erden.  I don't remember what he's got left on his contract but he could be here longer than just this season.  He's obviously got some skills to offer and he's not lazy--should command more $$ than a third-string center.  I could see him lasting longer on the team than either O'Neal and perhaps even ending up our starting center as the Celtics transition to the next phase.

In yesterdays Celtic/Bobcat game, Nenad Krstic, in 26 minutes had a team high +17.

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
Definitely Doc is not using Krstic as he should. K is a KG style player not a KP style player; same as KG is not a KP style player. Why does everybody know this except Doc? And like someone said; they dont get any plays for him to shoot from 15-18 ft. Is  Doc dumb or what? Why did they trade for him if they will not use him right. Probably they are doing the same with Green. I cant say cause I never saw Green play before; but I saw K burn us up while with the Nets from 15ft.
