It was an offensive foul the idea that Lebron and Blake can play the game like football --lowering their head and running over people takes a lot of the skill, movement out of the game.  If the defender is there first the game should not be reduced to who is bigger and stronger or more of a fan or ref favorite.

Quality defense is a pleasure to watch!

I agree, it was an awesome display of defensive skill by Gortat.

And effort.  Most people have just been getting out of the way of Griffin.  I love that Gortat stood there and took the charge.

Gortat was in the circle. How do you take that play away from Griffin?

What is the official rule? Does your sneaker need to not be touching the line (like out-of-bounds) or do you need to actually be outside the line?

He was clearly not touching the line AND inside it at the same time. I don't know if he "established position" after Blake left the ground, but that call is rarely, if ever, made.

Highlight-worthy for sure. This guy does incredible things above the rim.

The bizarre part is a Lakers fan posting a video of Blake Griffin on a Celtics board.

That I cannot understand.

I'm also a huge Clippers fan (almost as much as a Lakers fan). Been a Clippers fan many years before they got Griffin, and was, in fact, talking about how good he would be in the NBA before he officially hit NBA stardom. As far as the "TP's," I guess you'll just have to ask the people that gave them to me.

NBA rule book says the circle is ment as a guideline for ref's, not an absolute bright line rule. We've had this discussion before.

Generally they use the circle as a deciding point, but when a guy clearly has position and is barley in the circle with his heel, it's the ref's discretion.

Good call here. that was an awesome throwdown, but it was a charge. kudos for taking that gortat.

Regarding this, I'm pretty sure that if your foot is lifted above and over the restricted line, it still counts as being on it. Griffin gets beat up a lot, but doesn't help the matter much by constantly complaining about it. Either way, I think the call could have gone either way, as I think Gortat was shuffling his feet anyway.

Is that right? I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.
