Iggy Hops is quietly having a super season, Brand is playing solid down low, and they have some good depth.  I've always liked T. Young as a player, and I like that he's being used as a versatile supersub.


They do have Spencer Hawes and Mareese Speights as their bigs, though.

I'd like to see them pass the Knicks.  Then, I can root for them to pull the stunning upset over the Heat.

Ideal playoff situation:

Celts stay number 1, get to play the Pacers
Hawks beat Magic (doable), but neither one would be a problem
NY goes off and beats Heat (doable) and Bulls (unlikely), play Knicks in ECF

or Bulls beat either NY or Miami and we avoid the Heat in the ECF


I'm expecting to see either the Spurs or the Lakers in the finals but if OKC or Dallas could pull off an upset that'd be easy pickings (Mavs owned us in the reg but we wouldn't lose to them in the finals).

I doubt Miami gets swept. Even in the worst case there will be one game where Wade/LeBron hit enough tough jumpers to win.

Knicks are more dangerous to the Heat then the 76ers.


1)  Melo actually gets up and puts effort into his defense when going against Lebron.

2)  Neither the Heat nor the Knicks have any depth.  Both will use heavy starter minutes.

3)  Neither have a C.

4)  The 76ers do not have an offensive big man to attack the Heat interior weakness like Amare.

5)  The 76ers do not have the leadership and clutchness the Knicks have in Billups. 

6)  The 76ers best offensive players have to go against he Heat's best defenders. 



Mind you neither of these two teams are a threat to the Celtics, but the Knicks match up well against the Heat. 

Agreed. Melo and Stoudemire are attack attack attack on the offense, and Miami has noone around the rim to protect the basket against those two.

The Heat will have no problem with their first round opponent . . . second round will be a different story though.

I disagree - either of these two teams will give the heatles fits, and possibly eliminate them.

Knicks aren't that great.

They don't play defense, they will get swept out in the 1st round.

Mello and Amare are both good enough to win at least 1 or 2 playoff games single-handedly...

I would love to see NY and MIA battle it out...bad blood between FLA and NY makes for competitive rivalries and rowdy fan bases. My friend was at a Heat game against the Knicks once, and he watched a major fist fight break out after the game between some NY fans and Heat fans...that type of intensity would make for a good series, even if the Knicks aren't currently as good as the Heat.

A loss to New York allows him to hype the biggest market in the USA. Plus we can then have the 2011/2012 Miami arc about redemption. Me I want the aging Celtics winning #18 in 2011 and the aging 2012 Celtics being this generations 69 Celtics arc but nobody asked me.

agreed...philly is playing very good ball right now, and i think i would much rather face the knicks than the 76ers. the knicks are massively overrated. they play absolutely no defense, and neither melo nor amare have a great impact on the game without scoring.

i agree. i'd rather face the knicks than the 76ers. amare and melo are good one on one players, but they will have problems facing our team D. 76ers are a well coached, no BS team. they have no superstar but they have guys that can play well.
