Why do people want Powe?

He's one of the best available big men, and the Cs have a need for a couple.

Realistically, who else is there?  Murphy seems to be everyone's top choice, but he might not get bought out and even if he is, there is no guarantee he comes here.

Pryzbilla, if bought out, almost certainly goes to Portland.

Then we've got players like Sean Marks, Dwayne Jones, Gadzuric, etc.

Of the available players, Powe is right there near the top.  Cs can sign Powe now, and try to sign Murphy if/when bought out.
Celtics fan for life.

I would be totally disappointed if we got Gadzuric, he's useless

Kapono's a useful guy to have at the end of the bench, especially if we're down big and we just need a guy to jack 3s.

Dan Gadzuric is a terrible offensive player (disregarding his remarkable string of games against us in the OB era!) but he's still got some pogo sticks for legs and a high motor.  Can tear it up on the offensive boards, but that's about it.  Hard to see him being more useful than Mikki Moore was.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Who, I see you lurking, what do you think of Gazuric, can he play D at all?  I know nothing about him
No, not so much. Very poor in man-to-man D and weak on team defense also.

There is the odd flash of ... usefulness ... where has a short stretch of games where he plays decent (close to average) defense and rebounds the ball well ... but they are always short lived and followed up a lengthily series of awful performances.

Overall, he is lousy player who is highly inconsistent and is all too often awful.

A ringing endorsement!

Gadzuric used to hurt the C's pretty much every time we played against him--I believe he was on the Bucks at the time. He reminds me of Varejao, just survived by bringing lots of energy, but I haven't heard squat from him in a couple years...

Yes, that is how I remember him on the Bucks. About 2-3 years ago. Has length, and decent athleticism.

Yep. He doesn't want to move his family.

What's the waiting period before a traded player can resign with his old team? 60 days?

As for the players mentioned in the rumors, I'd rather have Powe than Gadzuric, and I'd rather have just about anyone than Kapono. The guy makes Yi Jianlian look like DPOY.

Whether its Krstic, Gadzuric, Camby, Przbilla, Powe, or Murphy, how do you guys know how they will play alongside our roster ?

Playing with 4 all stars never hurts your game.  Playing with a hall of famer like Garnett alonside of you helps everyone, including guys like Semih Erden.

No, it doesn't make anyone an all star, but there game is immediately better.  You and I both don't know how a Gadzuric and Kapono perform with this roster.

I've always liked Gadzuric for his energy but he's basically a less talented version of Kristic.

What about Dalembert?  To me, he would be the ideal buyout target, if bought out.  He's a great shot blocker and runs the floor well.

In what way?

Gadzuric may be less talented.  But Gadzuric's strengths are Kristic's weaknesses.

Gadzuric is more like a homeless man's Perk.

I actually don't know either player well, but my sense is both are energy guys, opportunists on the glass, but Kristic has a better jumpshot.

Please don't sign Kapono, Mr. Danny Ainge.

I always liked Kapono. He doesn't play defense, but he's a clutch shooter.  I think every championship team has a guy like this.  We could use another pure shooter and he has championship experience, so you could win with a guy like that.  Eddie House ring a bell?  And he is much taller than Eddie too.  Danny knows what he's doing.  And Gadzuric?  Danny knows the guy will work his tail off and be a pest, that's all he does.

Oh, and please don't sign Powe.  We don't need anymore undersized players, and one with poor knees at that with limited mobility most likely. And the worst team in the league didn't even want him. Let Miami sign him.  We'll be filling a roster spot with Powe, while Miami picks up someone good.  Save the roster spot for someone better or more useful.
