Jeff Green is the bridge which the Celtics cross.

Green will flourish here if he does two things mentally.

1) buy into Doc's team concept including defense

2) be humble and accept direction and advice from our HOF/veteran players.

As I look back at Jordans career and others, I feel that he never really began to become a complete player or a winner until he did these things. Sure he scored 50 ppg and was a human highlight film for a few years, but until Phil Jackson got him to play as a teammate and become the leader the team needed he wasnt a champion. The veterans were Artis Gilmore and a few others. I think there are a few guys in the league now that have the same resume, Kobe?

Not saying Green is going to be a HOF player, but he certainly has the skillset and talent to be an All Star. He will have a chance at a title this year and maybe next. Hope he commits mentally and spiritually as a Celtic. It will mean a great future for him and for us.

I distinctly remember that Len Bias was projected to be a "Dominick" like type of player. That he was better than Jordan is stretching it too far. Maybe while in college, maybe he was as good. I dont know. Jordan was drafted later than Bias was drafted, but history has Jordan as the best ever and I dont disagree with that. You had to see him to believe him. Ability wise - I would say Lebron is right there - he just isnt Jordan nor has his leadership nor charisma. Jordan was the Tiger Woods of basketball.

Yes, just as Bird, Magic, Wilt, Oscar, Russel, Kareem and others were. Jordan is *arguably* the best ever and he's not alone in that category.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
There are many who believed that Bias was further along in his development at that stage of his career than Jordan was. Nobody is saying Bias would have been better, but his game was more refined coming to Boston than Jordan's was going to the Bulls when he was drafted.

Sadly, we'll never know...

TP for taking the idea a step further! lol

We might as well throw Reggie Lewis comparisons as well.
This week was painful enough.

To me I'd rather use the name Voldemort than talk about Bias

Beautiful Edgar. Only problem is you have a 'Green' in 'Blue'.

Well, I believe Jeff will help big time, as well as Nenad.

Comparisons to Bias? Not sure there....Bias dominated college ball back in the day..there was a reason why Boston picked him 2nd in the 1986 draft.

Jeff? He played well for Georgetown..if I remember, he was their best player back then. We picked him 5th in 2007, so Danny must've seen something in him.

And now fast-forward to Feb 2011? Looks like he's back in Green. He will help Paul primarily, but can spell KG some.

Here's a clip of Jeff destroying Birdman. Chris evidently blocked 7 shots this game, but looks like he didn't get Jeff here:

Looking for more of this in Green.

He catches Josh Smith here:
