Since that story is unsourced, I consider it to be conjecture.  Logical conjecture, but I would assume conjecture all the same.

Just read that Perk wanted $10m year, or almost double what the C's offered (which was the max they could offer under the CBA).  The C's obviously weren't going to pay him that and that kick started the trade talks.

$10m is what Rondo and Ray make.  Perk isn't even half the player they are.  Danny did the right thing.

I heard he wanted a 4 year 30 mil deal. Something that was pretty affordable if I say so.

That's the max number I even would have considered for Perkins. And NO way I'd go eight figures for a defensive specialist with bad wheels. None.

No way would I go for four years for a player with Perk's injury history unless he were a HOF-level superstar.

A story leaked by someone in Ainge's camp after all the heat he is getting from a lot of fans and media imo. Why didn't this come up when he was offered the 4yrs/22-23 million?

Quote
“That wasn’t it. They offered me four years, but it was closer to like $22 million,” Perkins said. “You talking four years, $30 million! Shoot, that’s different. That’s a big difference.

Does that sound like a guy who wanted 10mil/yr? Whoever reported this is just blowing up smoke.
