upon hearing this trade initially, like most of you, i was in shock. and my initial take was negative because after all, why should we make a major roster move? I mean, we have the best record in the East and we're the best defensive team in the league. we have enough big men to outmuscle small teams like Miami and match up with big teams like LA. but it wasn't just a major rotation piece we traded away like BBD or Shaq or West. we traded away Perk! the legit starting C of a starting 5 with whom we have never lost a playoff series with. but all of you know that.

now, i've heard plenty of stuff from both camps of the pro-trade and anti-trade here on the board. Some people love the fact that Jeff Green can be our "new Posey" and a piece to build around and that Perk supposedly wanted to be an FA, and this some what assuaged my initial negative feelings regarding the trade. but after reading a few stuff up on the OKC Thunder's version of CB and seeing the excitement over there, i'm back to the feeling of dread. the feeling that we may have given away too much and seriously jeopardized our chances of realistically winning banner 18. you see, they shared the same negative sentiments we have over here regarding Green. weak on the boards, bad defensively, etc. etc. Same with Krstic, who despite having a smooth 15-ft jumper, is pretty "soft". So i can't blame them for being excited. after all, the Thunder starting 5 looks stacked now with Westbrook-Thabo-Durant-Ibaka-Perk.

and i'm not convinced about the shortcomings of Perk that people here in CB have begun to talk about. Sure, he brings the ball down before dunking it home, but his defensive contributions far outweigh his offensive limitations.

i hope my negative feelings are wrong. i hope this trade turns out wonderfully for both teams, and we have a Finals matchup of Thunder-Celtics or something. but right now, i'm very anxious to see how the team plays with jeff green and krstic. the clipper game can't come any sooner!
