I've always had a soft spot for Corey but everything wdleehi said is spot on. Too much money for no defense, it's like the Meineke commercial... only backwards.

1)  Overpayed.

2)  3 years left on his contract after the Celtics worked so hard to have only Rondo and Pierce under contract past two years.

more overpaid than JO though? I mean he's actually putting up solid numbers this season.

He's averaging 13 points a game and 3.9 rebounds while shooting just 45% from the field and 35% from the 3 line. thats about 5 or 6 less points than he usually averages, plus hes doing this while making 10 million a year... i would say thats much more overpaid.

The average and dip in ppg is mainly due to Scott Skiles, a coach notorious for sitting players whose games are more offense oriented (see Gordon, Ben during the Chicago years). As a starter, he consistently averages around 20 ppg. Skiles has given him limited minutes this year, but when he does get regular minutes and sees the floor, he produces his regular numbers. He could also be someone to keep around when Ray expires.

I don't think Maggette's stats are relevant to us. Look at what Nate used to do in NY.

Maggette is such a bad fit in our system that he might ride the pine in non-injury situations.
