well you all got what you asked for... less KG intensity I loved all the quotes about how its good to criticize your players etc etc. Wouldn't it have been nice to take it to another level in the 2nd half. Everyone wants a more mellow low-key KG well here you go.... Gasol ran wild and the rest of the Lakers had no fear at all going against us.

All?!? I really wouldn't make blanket statements like that, because I never posted anything remotely to that effect, nor would I ... I love KG's intensity and physical play, and I've had enough of the bashing. I don't want a more mellow or low-key Garnett, either, I want him to keep being exactly what he has been ... one of the best power forwards to ever play the game of basketball, and a player who makes me proud to be a fan of the Celtics! Man, this guy can't catch a break from anyone!

So you should never say anything bad about someone of your favorite team then? If we got Kobe next year would I have to like him?

I don't recall seeing anyone in here say they wanted a subdued KG. Don't get mad at anyone other then the Celtics about last night.

This thread seems to be tiltng at windmills.  There's a difference between pl aying aggressively but in control - like KG normally does - and playing passively.

Bad use of the word "all". Think he really meant for something like "those of you who wanted" kind of statement. I think his heart was in the right place, it just came out wrong. His point seems to be that those who did want KG to stop being so KG like, got their wish last night and we got KG in a mediocre, less aggressive, intense acting game so now we can say...."Is that what you guys want from KG?"

I've been seeing a lot of negativity placed on KG and last night seems to have brought a lot of that out even more. But it appears it doesn't matter what he does, the haters are gonna hate.

Last night's loss was just about being too thin. The game plan for the Lakers was way too simple. Just wait for us to get in foul trouble or tired and then they could spend the 2nd half mopping us up and they did. Heck, even PP had the flu. We just had no depth last night. It was like a whole team against a half a team. We can't make excuses though. We have to bring what we've got. When our starting lineup was fresh and had no foul trouble, we were killing them. But Perkins still isn't in top shape yet, Pierce was sick, Allen in Foul trouble and Robinson goes out with an injury. It was a perfect storm for the Lakers pure and simple. All they had to do was wait.

We needed more than an aggressive KG last night. We needed a bench we could rotate to. You know when you seen Bradley in on a game like last night, we didn't have any options left. We were lucky to only lose by 6. They should have destroyed us last night. A healthy Celtics with depth would have blown the Lakers out. Enjoy the win Lakers/Haters. Lets see how we look come playoff time.

I kind of thought we'd get pummeled because of depth issues.  I am sure our players did as well.   We came well, feed off Ray's breaking the record then coasted and it cost us.   Its not all on KG, folks.  He is one man on the team.  

He isn't going to change as a player.  He is set in his ways.  What really cost us the game was 25 turnovers and shooting .40 from the field and getting hammered on the boards 47 to 36.   We started hot and finished cold.

Wow another thread about handing the blame for last night on KG.

I was there, really close to the action and KG defensively was really good.

The whole team lost momentum going in to the 2nd half. Good shots weren't falling. Ray and Paul in foul trouble. Yes KG had a bad game offensively but so did Pierce... and baby, our only other scoring big right now...so did Rondo who took 14 shots but only 2 fts.

Von Wafer played 20 minutes. 20 MINUTES!

This was a team loss, just like 1/30 was a team win.

LA had a good game plan and did just what they needed to do. They knew we had personnel problems and took advantage of it. So they got us in foul trouble and wore us down in the end.
I hate losing to LA as much as any of you. But I'm really not worked up about this one all that much. I'm much more concerned with the Miami game coming up because I know we'll see them
in the Playoffs. Who knows if we'll see LA this year again or not?  And if we do then we'll probably still have home-court advantage over them.

To be honest I thought we'd lose ever worse last night with the way things started going in the second half. We got them at their house and they got us at ours.
