How is Kobe not further up the list? He was drafted in 96!

because he always has the ball in his hands and it is more difficult to get open behind the 3 pt line unless you are off the ball coming off screens or the wing or trailer on the fast break, none of which Kobe is.

Sounds like Pierce pre big 3 era. You aren't surprised at all by this? The fact that Jason Richardson is right behind him and got drafted 5 years after him is kinda crazy.

Paul Pierce will definitely be top 10 by the season is over...hes not far behind #9-11

by the time hes retired he'll probably be #8 or a bit higher

Yea, he only needs six more to enter all time top 10.

great post. i actually had this exact same conversation about a week ago with a few buddies as i was curious to find out how far down the list Paul was.

i scanned thru about the top 40 players and the one thing that stood out (besides jason kidd being number 3 - it seems like a statistical error!??!!) was oooold employee #8.  If i remember correctly he's like 31st in nba history in 3pters made.  His career 3pt% is like 32% haha.  It really is amazing when you think back about JUST HOW MANY ill advised heaves 'Toine took.  Nevertheless, i'll always love the guy.

Richardson takes .6 more per game, that adds up. Kobe isn't a very good 3 point shooter percentage wise, he also takes fewer than Pierce/Richardson. (Kobe 3.8, Pierce 4.4, Richardson 5.0)
