i don't think pietrus is low IQ. i think he's just inconsistent. he sorta zones in and out. like a tony allen but better, because he doesn't dribble all that much and he can shoot 3's.

i'm on the fence with this trade. I think Nate's in a major slump right now but i'm confident he'll pull out of it. having Delonte back may have something to do with it too.

I am really tiring of some talking about how much BETTER Nate will be when West comes back and he can play his natural SG spot.  Well, last night, against the pitiful Cavs, Rondo played about 44 minutes and Nate played almost 26 minutes.  That means that MOSOT of Nate's time on the court was with RR and he did NOT have to worry about PG duties, correct??  He was still only a +8 Efficiency Rating against one of the worst teams in the league at home.

His slight advantage in offense simply does not outweight what Pietrus can bring defensively and in terms of getting PP some dang rest.

a +8 with 11 points and a couple of both assists and rebounds from the SG is pretty decent off the bench consider the awful production he has been giving us at PG. Im perfectly happy with that. When West comes back an relieves Nate of ballhandling duties and running the system Nate will help us much better than he is now.

I just don't see Pietrius getting much time on this team. Whats the difference between him and Wafer besides a couple inches? I think we have more flexibility without Pietrius with combinations of West, Nate, Wafer, and Daniels.

I see a big difference...Pietrus has proven he can defend players like Lebron and give them a problem in a playoff atmosphere...also is a three point threat at times. But defensively i can see him giving Pierce some rest without losing a lot on either end.

I don't really know if he proved anything. The cavs didn't lose to the Magic in the playoffs because of Pietrus' defense on Lebron, that had little to do with it. I also think that he has fallen off a lot since then. He didn't play any meaningful minutes last year against us in the playoffs instead minutes were going to Barnes and JJ Redick.

I think Wafer has proved that he can play respectable defense this year and Quis has been fine all year and I think is a great back up to Pierce.

If Pietrius comes I don't see him getting much more than Von Wafer minutes anyway.

Pietrus defense on Lebron was key and very much needed. What games were you watching because i saw a player who could hold his own on the best player in the NBA at that time. How do you know if he's fallen off, sounds more like spectulation than pure facts. He hasn't had the opportunites to play on a consistent basis like he had in 2009.

It's just odd to me that he wouldn't play against Pierce last year if he was doing so well against Lebron. He was a good role player 2 years ago, awesome. If we were talking about 2 years ago sure but what has he done since then? And just because you think he could "hold his own" against Lebron 2 years ago doesn't mean that we sohuld trade for him. Rather have Pierce, Daniels, and Ray would all defend Lebron before Pietrius would in the playoffs anyway

Can't we just go into the playoffs without making any moves? If the chemistry is good right now why risk affecting it? I know that in '08 PJ brown and sam cassell joined midway but I like the idea of leaving the things the way they are for once.

That being said, Pietrus would definitely fit well but would he able to learn the defense thoroughly enough in time for the playoffs?

If Delonte was healthy and playing this season I'd be surprised if Nate wasn't traded already.  He has given us depth when needed at 2 posistions, when he hits he can really be good but he's a streak shooter.  What I would love to see mainly from Nate is full court defensive pressure on the others teams ball handler, take some time off the shot clock.  I am surprised he isn't better at this, Rondo and Marquis do a nice job of forcing mistakes, hurried offense and taking time off shot clock.  If Nate can't help that way he isn't that good defensively, isn't a good passer so if his shot is off he's not much help.

In a heartbeat.  Pietrus could help this team more then Nate can...also he could replace TA in every way like others have said.

Plus I believe that Wafer could be more productive then Nate if he had as much of a lease as Nate does.

TP b/c Wafer could score just as many points if not more than Nate playing SG and having the same leniency as Doc gives N8.
Wafer's shot is starting to fall more lately, and as he continues to learn to move without the ball, he'll make even more shots and earn minutes next to West instead of Nate
Can't stop, Rondo!

I assume GM's of other teams get NBA TV. They get to see Nate miss shots every night for the C's why would another team want a 5'8 two guard?

I believe Nate would be much more effective on an up-tempo team that didn't rely so heavily on half-court execution.
