Not that I'm wishing injury to any player but it looks like of all the top teams in the standings (Spurs, Celtics, Heat, Lakers, Mavs), the Spurs have been the only team fortunate enough to have their Core Four (Ginobili, Parker, Duncan and Jefferson) healthy for all their games played! No wonder why the lead Boston by 3 losses and the rest of the league by 5+ losses! They need some bad luck to bring them down to earth with the rest of the top teams.  :)

Ive said it since day one, 3 teams have a shot at winning the title this year. 3 and only 3. Lakers, Celtics, and Spurs... They are certainly proving they belong there, plus Bonner is having a great year.

However, to wish "bad luck" on them or wish an injury upon the team is something I would never ever do to them. If they are playing well they deserve the best record.

Good point, and an evil wish.  ;D

But based upon the single game I saw of the spurs this year (never let it be said that I don't willingly jump to conclusions) I think the celtics can beat the in a series........IF the celtics are healthy.

The Spurs have also played 23 home games (21-2 if I recall that number correctly) and only 17 on the road.

Not wishing injury on them but it is extremely rare for a team to be that healthy all season esp. knowing their history. Or maybe they are making up for some injuries they have had the last few years. Who knows? Would be nice if this happened to the C's.

Good for them, but as others have said, they've been lucky.  The C's would probably be challenging the Bulls' mark again if everyone was healthy.  The Lakers have also been hit by the injury-bug.

And even the Heat--hate them as I do--had to adjust to playing with each other.  Take that away, and they probably have the best record in the NBA.

It's really been the perfect storm for the Spurs: a weaker West, perfect health, and a team that's played together forever.

If it were up to me, I'd rather it be the San Antonio Spurs that advance out of the Western Conference this season. The Spurs admittedly have the advantage of never having lost an NBA Finals series, however that doesn't mean that they would be unbeatable in this year's NBA Finals.

If the Boston Celtics make it out of the East then they would instantly have the chance to improve upon the team's record of 17 championships won in 21 Finals appearances.

The Lakers have been to the finals 31 times but have only won 16 Banners, barely 50% (that's less than Shaquille O'Neal's fg% this season)! As for which Finals matchup would be tougher for the Boston Celtics, well, we'd have to actually get there first, however as history (or recent history) has proved neither one of those teams is unbeatable. The Los Angeles Lakers are our main rivals though, so there is always that aspect to look at. I cannot wait for June 2011 to come so that I can watch the Boston Celtics in the playoffs...

When i look back on the games the C's probably should've won 3 games standout more. Our record should look closer to 33-6 than 30-9.The home game aganist the Hornets,Houston, and the away xmas day game vs Orlando are three i felt the C's let slip through their fingers.imo

The Spurs will come down to the pack soon enough.

I don't know if I want them to get HCA in the West. The Lakers have had HCA advantage in every series except one in the last three years. Anyone wanna guess which one that was and what was the result?

A part of me wants to finally see Duncan vs Garnett for all the marbles. But we all want our revenge, too.

Those are the only two teams I see coming out of the West. It's unfortunate that Butler went down, because I believe the Mavs may have had the strongest team in the West with him.

I'm happy for the Spurs and am a fan of the way they play basketball.

I'll be rooting for them to be Western Conference Champs.

Go Spurs!

This year is 'Operation: Keep the Lakers from catching up to us at 17 titles.'

Obviously I want to  maintain our lead by extending it to 18 titles, but hey if the Spurs can knock the Lakers out, it's one less thing for me to bite my fingernails about, especially if the C's were to somehow not make it.

No, they just need to face the Celts in the playoffs. That will bring them down to earth in a hurry.
