I don't see how the Nuggets are interested in Odom and/or Bynum plus the rest of a trade package over the other possible offers they have, including the Nets offer which probably includes a few firsts and Derrick Favors.  Odom is too old and Bynum is too uncertain from a health standpoint.

Plus I seriously doubt they would trade him to the Lakers just from a competitive stand point, not that they are making a title run after a Melo trade but just on principle.  Most franchises are not like the Grizzlies (with the Gasol trade).

Dealing an oft-injured Bynum and Candyman Odom for Melo? And the Nuggets dealing their superstar within the same conference? Seriously? I'll believe it when I see it.

Exactly. The Nuggets have made it clear they want a young stud in return to market, cap space and at least one 1st rounder. This LAL trade fulfils none of those requirements.

IMO, the NJ Nets offer is the one to beat at this point.

New Jersey won't give up Favors without Carmelo signing a contract extension.

Their offer isn't serious.

Bynum definitely fits the young stud category. I doubt Favors is every as good as Bynum, and you just can't teach Bynum's size. Like someone else just said, a 3 way deal could work if they ship other pieces for expirings.

I'm just praying the Lakers don't get Melo, but I do have this weird feeling theyre gonna pull off a big trade this year. I think they're ready to trade Bynum for someone who is more a sure thing to help them this year.

Bynum's value has diminished because of the concerns about his knees longterm. Favors is healthy. The Nuggets can't screw this up. Bynum is way too risky.

No team will be stupid enough to take Bynum until they know he can play a full year of those knees.

Given how well Odom is playing, I think the Nuggets would do this in a heartbeat. I highly doubt that Lakers management will make a significant change, though. They've already made this clear before the season. Besides, he is usually the one to close out big games.

Ah The Lakers Always Pushing the Evolope. I Don't Know What to Make of This Since Majority of the Rumors Never Come to Fruition. Its Great Discussion Wise. But I Can't See the Lakers Making Such a Drastic Change for the Sake of Making a Change.

I'd have no problem with it. Two ball stoppers on the same team? Kobe isn't going to take the back seat, and Melo won't want to give up his shots. Gasol would be taken out of the mix a bit. More talent for LA, but bad fit.

Hey, you guys should think again about this. I would love this trade to happen.

If they so happen to trade Odom for Carmelo would be great. It would leave only Gasol as the only prominent big man. Bynum is always injured so that would lead to Gasol to play more minutes, which would wear him out.

Odom is the X factor for this team, and does alot of things for the Lakers. He can bring the ball up, a good passer, and can play 3 positions. Take that away, and the Lakers become predictable and easy to defend

And the other thing I love is that with Carmelo on board, there would be obvious head butting and jealousy with Kobe and Carmelo. People may try to hide it, but Kobe is still a selfish person. How would he feel playing with someone who is bigger, a better scorer, and younger. His ego wouldn't allow him to subdue his game for another superstar. We all know how the Shaq thing went

So I say, bring on this trade! lol

Even though I don't think this trade would happen
