Been reading that Terrance Williams, who seemed to be a bright spot for NJ last year, has found himself out of the rotation and late to practice, fined, etc.

From what I've seen of him, he's a legit 6'6 G/F that can handle the ball, stay in front of his man, hit the occasional J, and dunk like crazy.

Jersey can't decide what to do with him at this point. I say trade him for Bradley and Harangody so he can be surrounded by actual NBA players and veterans that will set him straight. The Nets squad is full of prospects and busts, non of which are leaders or locker room presences.

He could help with the loss of West and Rondo, as well as provide bench minutes for Pierce/Ray. He could also boost the performance of Daniels and Wafer by competing for their minutes.
Can't stop, Rondo!

First, there's simply no improving VWafer's performance.

Second, this is the sort of low risk/high reward gamble that Danny likes.  TP.

No chance the Nets do that deal.  Williams has had some issues of late, but he is still a heck of a talent, and a big part of their rebuilding core.  Avery Johnson is a tough coach, and he likes to send messages to young players.  So far, there really has only been one incident.  If Williams continues to have maturity issues, then perhaps they will consider moving him...but that is still a ways away, and would still cost much more than Bradley and Harangody.

I'm not so sure that their not ready to part ways, we should find out more tomorrow, here is a quote from the Newark Star-Ledger:

“Billy (King, the Nets’ GM) and I are discussing where we are there, and we’ve been in contact with Terrence and his representatives,’’ Johnson said before the Nets took on the Celtics at TD Garden. “We have a couple of options available to us… I will have an answer for you on Friday – a definitive answer. No sugarcoating it; no grey area. We will have an answer.’’

Johnson said a suspension of Williams, who did not make the trip to Boston with the team, is “not one of the options that we’ve discussed.’’ He did say that one of the options is simply bringing Williams back on the active roster after his two-game punishment.

So if suspension is not being considered and reinstating Williams is, what other options are there? Well, Williams could be waived, or traded or fined. But Johnson said Tuesday that the team had fined Williams before, and that had not corrected the problem. One other option, of course, would be to simply leave Williams on the inactive list indefinitely.

Trading away your first- and second-round picks for a guy with a questionable character and work ethic sounds risky to me.

He's not exactly Beasley-type talent where he is worth the risk. That was a guy the C's missed out on who coulda possibly had for cheap, if of course Riley was willing to deal him to us (doubtful).

Tp. My Guess is both parties would decline this trade.

In the draft, Celtics had an opportunity to draft a need of position @ 19 overall, but they went with Avery Bradley largely due to his ridiculous upside. They consider him a similar steal as Rajon Rondo. New Jersey Nets on the other hand have enough young player adding Avery does very little to improve their current roster. Remember Nets remain a top contender to get Melo in a trade. Terrance Williams can help woo Denver to make the trade, rather than an unproven rookie (Avery Bradley)).

BTW, at what point will NJ realize that nothing goods from having guys named Williams on their team.

Terrance Williams
Jayson Williams
Sean Williams
Marcus Williams

Just not working well for them lately.

While I agree with your post and everything you say, Avery Bradley seems to me like a dream prospect for Avery Johnson who loves hard nosed defensive players. That package might be enough.

I came into this season as one of Terrence Williams' biggest fans, but even I'm a little skeptical on him now. In the summer I compared him to Latrelle Sprewell, but I was hoping that'd be limited to on-court stuff.

At the same time, I wouldn't dismiss him. He might not be a "Michael Beasley talent" but I don't think he's as far off as some might suspect. He's an incredible talent on both ends of the floor with an incredible ability to fill up the stat sheet.

Per 36 in his rookie season last year he averaged:
13.4 points, 7.4 rebs, 4.6 .9 steals on admittedly an abysmal .401 fg%.

He's definitely a gamble, but with the team we have in place, personally (as a huge T-Will fan) I think I'd still make that trade.

That is a good point.  I still don't think its comparable value right now though.  If Williams continues to stumble after this latest message, and Bradley shows he is an NBA offensive player, then things may change.  But at the moment, I still think Bradley's value is still significantly lower than Williams'
