Apparantly they are checkin him out, and all I can say is that I hope it happens!

With the start they are off to, plus A.I., adding defense and explosive offense, they could test L.A. and give them a run

That'd be an interesting combination, but I don't think New Orleans has the pieces by itself to land Iggy. It'd probably have to be a three team deal.

Interesting that New Orleans would consider taking on Iggy's contract.

I think of Iggy as being more of a SF than a SG, especially as he gets older.  Does Iggy make sense playing alongside Ariza, or would they be looking to move Ariza as part of a deal?  Ariza's only shooting 35% so far this year.

EDIT: Not that you'd panic about Ariza's shooting so far, but he was pretty disappointing in Houston last season as well.  New Orleans maybe thinking that Ariza wasn't enough of an upgrade on the wings?

Until they have a stronger frontcourt, I have a hard time imagining NO really challenging the Lakers.

I think Iggy is a really solid player, and he'd probably thrive alongside C-Paul; it would also probably make things easier for Ariza, since he'd be even lower on the list of offensive options, so he'd get better looks.  Ariza is not meant to be a volume scorer.  With Ariza, Iggy, and Paul, the Hornets would also have very good perimeter defense.

However, without more depth in the front court I think they simply lack the size and inside scoring ability to challenge the Lakers.  They should try to acquire more size.

Seems unlikely, but NO + Iggy would be a powerful team.  I don't see them beating LA but I'd say they'd be the favorite to face them in the WCF.

I love Iggy and I think his game is perfect for Chris Paul.  They would be probably the fastest backcourt and would wreak havoc on the passing lanes.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Well, I hope for Hornets fans' sake that the NO front office does something with their trade assets (Peja's huge expiring contract, a $6.2 million trade exception, some other smaller expiring deals) to add another impact player to that roster.

NO has what to trade--Peja's expiring deal, and ??  Perhaps Bayless, some 2nd rounders, and a 2013 pick?  It'd be cool if Iggy went to NO, though...good fit, much stronger team that will give LA fits in the west...CP/Ariza/Iggy/West/Okafor is pretty solid.

I'd be worried that Indy would offer more though, and create another potential contender the east, with Collison/Iggy/Granger/HustlePF/Hibbert.  Of course, Obie would have to get fired for the team to contend...

But the Pacers have the same or better pieces to offer.

I think New Orleans would offer Peja's expiring contract + Marcus Thornton (20ppg threat in starters minutes + possibly a future first round pick if they needed to sweeten the pot.

I've been thinking about the Pacers and Iggy on and off for a few months too ... but I was usually thinking about it the other way with Granger heading to Phily for Evan Turner and pieces (when thinking about Iggy to Indy, I thought Indy should go after AK47 as their PF and field a nice uptempo team).

I think Granger + Iggy would be a wonderful combination in the wings and a joy to watch. I'd love to see that happen whether it be in Indy or Phily.

For selfish reasons, I'd love to see Iggy moved and see Philly give Evan Turner the keys to the 76ers.  Build the team around him and Brand (if Elton keeps up his renaissance).

I have no idea if Turner will ever turn into the player I think he has the potential to be but I would like to see Iggy out of the picture.   ;)

Honestly, I haven't seen the Philly PG's play enough to get a feel for how it'd work there.  Collison is the real deal, and with Iggy and Granger, enough scoring power to use hustle/defender/garbage-man bigs and be a solid threat in the playoffs with their starters.

Throw in a bench that might be fairly deep (with TJ Ford, Rush, Posey, and a hustle PF), and they might take out a higher-ranked team.

Or be in the Charlotte realm as a team that's a piece or two short...and struggles.

AK-47 with the Pacers could be interesting.

Having watched him against Miami and the Magic I've been very impressed with him this season. He's playing excellent active defense, generating a lot of extra possessions for his team, and hitting the occasional shot.

Iggy in NO would make for a pretty nice looking team.

Apparently, the Hornets are using Peja and Bayless to acquire . . .

wait for it . . .

Jarret Jack, David Andersen, and Marcus Banks.
