Baby and a few other players for a stud behind Pierce ( in a slary move by some team...) who could possibly replace Pierce down the road....?

Go for the rings this year and next but if Baby isn't seen as a long term piece of an uptempo team...

Again, good point.

the best thing is he's actually an NBA-caliber player (borderline starter quality) and he's capable of playing multiple positions -- at least both guard positions and possibly SF in a pinch or in a smallball line up.  He can fill a hole on the roster which is outside shooting that the team needed desperately last year.
Delonte is already small at the 2. I don't want to see him at the 3.
I don't think they'd use him at the 3 unless we're facing a three guard line up.

I can see them using Ray at the 3 however if Daniels is out of the rotation. Better than Delonte at the 3, but still not good.

to me the best thing about the delonte signing is that the contract is not guaranteed.

that means the upside is obviously huge, but if it doesnt go as planned, we can always just cut him from the team.

however whoever is comparing Delonte to TONY ALLEN has got to get some facts straight. Tony is a lock-down defender that delonte could never become. delonte is an average defender at best. he's only 6'3'' and tony has 20 pounds on him, which basically means delonte could never guard the 3 position like tony did.
