I am returning to college to finish my teaching degree for the sole reason I want to go to Japan and live for a couple of years and experience their culture. So I can relate to Pierce.

The only difference is Pierce is taking his family with him, I am hoping to find one of their women to make a family with :)

Wouldn't it be great if Paul Pierce traveled Europe as an unofficial scout and recruiter for the Boston Celtics?  He could identify talent and make personal connections that result in European stars making Boston their preferred destination if they want to make the jump to the NBA.

It would probably add to his legacy if he is responsible for some Hall of Fame European talent playing for the Celtics.

He's running away imo. Trying to get as far away from that Game 7 loss as possible and part of that means getting away from the Celtics. I understand why he wants to do it but I cannot abide.
Never stop believing baby~

Wahhh? If he was running away he wouldn't have signed a four year contract with the C's I would think.

Mediocre sarcasm or a reading comprehension failure?

Very happy to hear Pierce is thinking of playing in Europe.

It removes or at least lessens the unlikeable situation of having to throw him out the door when his day is up (too old, declined too much). And it means he won't be playing for another NBA team which is very nice too. Spent his whole NBA career with the same side.

Good for you Paul!

It's a big world out there, and I like that he has the humility to recognize and embrace it.

Now work hard at getting a couple more titles while here in Boston!
Celtics fan for life.

well, he'll retire from the NBA as a Celtic, so that's cool. i see his decision to be more of a family-based decision. seeing the world, living in Europe, while still playing the game he loves. sounds like a win-win-win. all the best to the Captain!
