Dwight Howard.  As if the C's didnt already have great size to match up and body him away from the basket with perk and baby, insert Shaq.  Seriously, he may demand a trade out west. 

Somewhere, i'd also say a bead of sweat dripped down bynum's face too. 

If we are able to get a defensive wing with Sheed's contract, i'd be deleriously happy.

The biggest losers are probably Denver and Atlanta.  How could those two teams not offer Shaq more than the vet min?  There is no way Denver can get past LA with the current Nugget bigs and the same is true of Atlanta and Orlando.

Yeah Shaq will never be old Shaq but I would love to see him Shed some pounds so he can be somewhat laterally mobile. We shall see.

His 1 on 1 defense is still pretty good though. Maybe KG's help D can hide some of Shaq's defeciencies.

You're kidding, right? Rasheed was a credible post defender, and would lay his hand on most balls that passed close to him. The guy averaged close to 1 steal and 1 block in limited minutes.

I can argue that not only is Shaq, at this stage of his career, an overall downgrade defensively, but he is also a downgrade in every defensive aspect.

Shaq blocked more shots than Wallace, and also rebounded a whole lot better. Its true that Sheed got a lot of steals for the C's and that's probably the biggest difference between the two. Both fouled at a pretty high rate.

Sheed's one area of positive defensive abiility was post defense, and Shaq is still very good at post defense.
