I think getting either one of these guys would be great for our bench if we go small with one of them playing the 4 or very big playing the 2.  They are both physical, tough, unselfish, defensive minded players that would be great helping slow down Wade and Lebron.

Do you think we could put together a realistic trade idea involving Sheed's contract to get either one of these guys?

Andre makes $12,345,250 this year and on the books for 4 years.
Gerald makes $9,862,500 this year and on the books 3 years.

Both teams are very close to the luxury tax threshold, would be lucky to make the playoffs, and maybe possibly looking to clear some cap space and get some draft picks.

I've read that with Sheed's contract, his trade kicker, the non guaranteed deals of Gaffney and Oliver brings us to around 11 mil to play with before we add anyone else.

Would the package above plus say 2 protected 1st round picks, S&T with Scal to make the numbers work be enticing enough to get Andre?

Would roughly the same package about with a protected first be enough to get Wallace?

Would you do either of these trades?   I think either one of these guys would bring a physical presence off the bench and would feel much more comfortable with them as the first wing instead of Daniels or even Josh Howard for that matter just coming back from a serious injury.  I'm not sure Ainge would want to take on either of these contracts though.

Gerald Wallace isn't available in a salary dump. Only a trade for a superior talent.

I'm not sure about Iggy's availability. That one could go either way.

Why cant anyone understand that teams with good players arent just looking to dump them for salary. The Bobcats are a great playoff bound team. Why would they get rid of their best player for absolutely nothing in return except cap relief when they arent in financial trouble?

Wait a second a "great playoff bound team"????  They are a 7th or 8th seed at best and when Gerald Wallace is your best player you are not going anywhere.   It boggles my mind why medicore teams want to stand pat.   You will never get a top draft pick for the chance of a franchise player to truly be a contender.

If I were the GM of either the Sixers or Bobcats I would try to blow up their respective teams Oklahoma City style getting multiple draft picks with the hopes of a getting a Kevin Durant type player.

They aren't going anywhere as currently constituted.   What's the point of standing pat when both these guys why I would love them as sixth men are your best players on their respective teams?

What I was offering was not a straight salary dump but a first round draft pick or multiple firsts to pry one of these guys away.

Charlotte is trying to compete, no way they do it.

Philly, now that could be interesting.  I think their team should be pushing a youth movement, but Iggy fits in with that since he's only 26.  Holliday, Turner, and Iggy look like a good 1-3 for the future and they've got a couple decent prospects for bigs.  I think it'd be tough to pry him.

But if we can, I say we go to all measures to do so.  He's getting great reviews on his defense from team USA, can run and is an athletic freak.  He would be a great matchup with Rondo.  I'd give up Sheed, Baby, Bradley, 2 future firsts for him, Jason Smith, and a future 2nd.  That is a lot to give up, but still I wonder, would that be enough to pry him?

Iggy isn't available for a salary dump either...well, unless the salary is Elton Brand's.  And even then, I think Philly wants some prospects for Iggy.

People think that because it happens all the time in the NBA.

Also, the Bobcats are a fringe playoff team. I hope great was a typo on your part.

You are right though, Charlotte probably is not interested unless they get some talent in return.

Philly would do it though if we take Brand as well.
