What do you guys think? Not guarding Rondo, Out-rebounding them, Eliminate Ray Allen, neutralize Pierce, faster pace...............
Good Question...I think most teams we played last year excelled one way or the other in every category you listed.
It's just that when the playoffs started last year, Boston found a way to defeat teams that used those same weaknesses against us.
Take the CLE series - Lebron bottled up Pierce for almost all series, but in the most critical game of that series (Game 5), Pierce burst loose for that 21 pt, 11 reb, 7 assist game.
Rondo and KG absolutely ruled that CLE series.
In the ORL series, Ray wasn't great at all, but Pierce roasted Matt Barnes and nearly everyone else ORL tried to put on him.
Pierce carried us that series.
LA out-muscled us on the boards - but still needed 7 games (and maybe a few "Questionable" calls) to beat us? And Perk would've made a difference, too.
I'm believing that opponents will try to do the same things this year, too - some teams will out-quick us, out-rebound us, etc, but once the post-season starts, we'll find a way.
