Walsh: I'd consider Thomas for GM

A reunion between Isiah Thomas and the New York Knicks  is possible, according to Donnie Walsh.

Walsh, the Knicks' president, said Thomas will be on his list of candidates if he is given the go-ahead to hire a general manager.

"With other people, yes, Isiah would be under consideration from me," Walsh said in a telephone interview Saturday. "But that's a situation the owner would have to be involved in."

Wow... The Knicks suck for the last ten years and tank for the last two and lose out on the LeCon sweepstakes and now are trying to bring back Isiah Thomas who is partially responsible for their franchise being so disfunctional.

What is going on in the NBA?  When I wake up will the world be spinning?

What am I kidding I'm not surprised at all that the second worst franchise (maybe worse) is considering this.

The Knicks are a hilarious franchise right now.  Unreal that Walsh would even CONSIDER Isaiah for ANYTHING back at the Knicks.

The Knicks sent Isiah to meet LeBron as a last ditch attempt to get him to sign with the Knicks. He did so at Dolan's request. Isiah still carries a lot of respect from the people that matter (ownership + GM) in that organization.

I'd welcome seeing the Knicks hire Isiah again. He screwed up last time but I am still intrigued by him as a General Manager ... I think he's a great judge of young prospects coming out of the draft.

The fact that the Knicks sent Isaiah to talk to LeBron, is most likely the reason that LeBron is not a Knick, (that's a joke, kind of). I can't imagine anyone would ever take a chance on his arrogance and ineptitude again, but a team in the position of New York might be grasping at such straws. There are very few people in the NBA who I disrespect as much as Zeke ... and very few people who do as much, (or as little), to deserve it. His blatant efforts to show his hatred for all things Celtic while coaching the All-Star team in 2003, (giving Paul and Antoine a total of 27 combined minutes on the floor), and the sexual harassment suit, were the last straws for me ... I'm amazed it wasn't for the Knicks. I'm not big on spewing venom, but when it comes to Isaiah, it's just too hard not to.
