I love J-Duds but there is no way he knows that.

If he does, it's due to the Amare connection (and perhaps the D'Antoni connection.)

i just read that Lebron will be in Connecticut to make his announcement....that just adds to the speculation. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67934/20100707/lebron_will_be_in_connecticut_for_announcement/

my guess....it's gonna be NYC

He's making it from Greenich CT...13 miles from the Knicks practice facility...but you know who also lives in Greenich?  Jay-Z

  • You know my methods, Watson.
mock me all you want, but lebron and amare will have more success than wade and bosh.  bosh is THE MOST overrated player in the nba it's not even funny.

i guarantee you that amare will put up better numbers and bosh will flame out...

You know what I find hilarious? If he does go the Knicks, that means that Amare was the deciding factor. You combine that with the rumors of him trying to bring Bosh to Cleveland and I think he would've stayed if someone else had joined him. However, the Cavs refusal to part with Hickson and instead traded for Jamison has proven to be a colossal failure. Hickson better turn out to be a star!

I might be missing something here but the Cavs wanted to do that trade for Bosh but Bosh didn't want to play in Cleveland. I don't know exactly what Cleveland could have done to keep Lebron but I think they tried everything, we'll see how it works out.

Yeah if Cleveland is to be mad at anyone, it should maybe be Bosh.  Everything was set for Bosh to be brought into Cleveland for Lebron.  Bosh has said he wanted to play with Lebron...just...not in Cleveland.  For whatever reason, he just had no interest in playing in Cleveland.

CORRECTION...Cleveland should be mad at themselves. Why??? because they had a deal set with Phoenix for Amare, during the season. They chose to add Jamison instead of Amare, which was their vital mistake. They didn't want to part with Hickson - dumb move. Yeah they would have a had a Lebron/Amare duo,and missing pieces, but that duo, might have won a title. If they did win it all in2010, why wouldn't LeBron and Amare want to stay together to win more titles??? Lebron would even be bigger if he would have got other free agents to join him and Amare in Cleveland.

I think both teams will be very good, but the supporting cast is a HUGE factor.  Also, coaching as well.

Does NY trade Lee for Parker? Although Amare, Lebron, Lee is a solid core.

I disagree.  Amare in Cleveland wouldn't have worked.  Jamison was the much better fit.  He spread the floor and fit the style of play of the Cavs.  Jamison just didn't get the job done.  Plus, with them having Shaq, Amare and Shaq were a terrible frontcourt duo in Phoenix.  Amare needed the paint to get his work done with dunks and pick and roll moves inside under the basket but Shaq was in his way.

There was no way they could duplicate it and make the same mistake.

Yes they do in a heart beat.  Amare and Lee are the same position and duplicate each other in many ways.  New York needs a good pg.

With cap holds, etc., it looks like the Knicks committed salary for next season (after around $16.5 million each for Amare and Lebron) will be around $54 million.  They probably won't have enough room to take back another expensive player.

Guy, you are out of your mind.  Bosh posted the 4th best PER this season at 25.11.  The best power forward overall.  Amare was 11th, at 22.6.  Their ppg were very similar.  But Amare plays with Steve Nash for cripes' sakes.  Look at players who put up huge numbers with Nash, and what they did after leaving him (i.e. Marion, Diaw).  His numbers are at least partially inflated by playing with Nash. CB4 put up his numbers as the number one option on a dreadful Raptors team.  How many would he score if he played with Nash?

Secondly, Bosh is an elite rebounder in the NBA, while Stoudamire has never averaged 10 rpg in his career.

Add in the fact that Amare is a year older and has already had microfracture surgery on his knee, and the comparison is even more one-sided.  Amare is a good player, and a nice addition to the Knicks.  But Chris Bosh is a top tier player and by any statistical measure, is on a much higher level.

Regardless if it worked or not, James likely would've stayed.
