If Art P ended up being sort of like a poor man's Perk with average defense and offense worse than Perkins, but a solid rebounder, how useful is that?

Kind of useful the first half of the season.  And ... we got killed on the boards.  We don't need a guy who can score (besides put backs and dunks) with guys like Pierce, KG, Rondo & company.

Rebounding translates. That and our need to fill out our lineup make Gody and Artie P. decent shots to make the 15.

How solid is 2 rebounds in 24 minutes tonight?! The guy can't play. Sorry to break the news to you.

He may well have been focused on making other adjustments per the coaches.  Also, Harangody was a hawk swooping in to pick up boards after the Euros did the hard work boxing out.

You guys really need to watch the Summer league games and not pay any attention to the stats. For Parakhouski, what you need to see is:

Does he box out well?
Does he establish good initial defensive positioning?
Does he get to his spots and establish himself on the offensive end?
Does he set good legal picks??
Is he a good a weak side help defender?
Does he make his man alter his shot often?
Does he get those 50/50 balls under the basket and rebounds?
What's his lateral movement like?
What's his hands like?
Can he extend and defend to 15 or 18 feet?
How does he run the floor?
How strong is his base and lower body?
Does he defend with his feet and legs or arms and hands?
Can he use both hands offensively?
Does he get happy feet on the offensive boards?
Does he have the ability to put back strong?
Where does he carry the ball offensively?
Can he shoot and from where?
How good is his ball handling when he has to put it on the floor?

Forget the box score and forget the stats in these games. Watch the game and act like a scout. Act like these guys are kids on the block that you might have to draft for the youth league you will be coaching in. Do that and you will have a better idea what Danny and Doc are trying to see.

Exactly. If you aren't seeing some of this stuff that would definitely be a tell tale sign.

The only guy on the floor that I would even consider as an NBA player was Harangody today. He has a good motor. Had a head for where the ball was going on missed shots(always the sign of a real player). He has great range and he established excellent position on both offense and defense and at the end of the half showed great decision making in faking his man in the air, going to the hole, getting the shot off in time and picking up the and one. He has definite skills and is a smart and well disciplined basketball player.

I missed yesterday's game(have it DVRed haven't watched it yet. but from today's game, only Luke Harangody showed me anything resembling NBA abilities.
