Joe Johnson-    6 yr/ 119 mil
Drew gooden - 5 yrs/32 mil
John Salmons- 5 yr / 40 mil
Darko Milicic- 4 yr / 20

What the hell is up with these owners? They give scrubs full MLE contracts and are giving borderline all-stars max level money. This is just insanity. They are just giving away money, and then are crying because of how much the players are making.

So be it.

I personally don't care if the new deal favors the players or the owners.

I want it to favor the fans.  That means teams are not stuck for half a decade or more of being terrible because they are stuck with bad contracts.

Labor stoppages benefit no one. That said, I cannot believe the insane deals I am seeing, especially in this economy. And the quality of play is thoroughly horrible due to incompetent officiating.

The fans are the ones who should be boycotting this game until fiscal sanity is restored.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

I've said it in a couple threads already today and in the past,

I can't take the owners and Stern's Complaints about player salaries serious when they cut each others throat, and dish out absurd contract after absurd contract anytime there is a DECENT FA class.

This happens to be a good one, it's already ridiculous, and the good players haven't even come close to signing anything yet.

I already don't wanna hear what they have to say, and we're a year away. I don't know I'm gonna get through any lockout with any respect left for these people.

Lockout or no lockout I cant wait for next CBA to kick in so that the league can have its sanity back.

Lockout or no lockout I cant wait for next CBA to kick in so that the league can have its sanity back.

I don't begrudge the players or owners for wanting to make money, particularly when warranted.(Some Owners don't deserve to make money, with the way they operate) I like most aspects of the NBA's pay scale and salary cap model, probably needs some tweaking, but I think it sounds relatively fair. From a fans perspective.

Both the owners and the players need to gain a little sanity.

Just because a player is ELIGIBLE for some type of max deal, does not require you to give one, or for a player to expect to receive one.

I'm not saying the owners should collude, or the players to not go for what they feel is fair, but I can't deny that no matter how much I love the NBA and want to defend it, times like these make the system look way out of wack.
