I don't think Danny has made anything clear.  These are all rumors.  We don't know if Danny actually has interest in any of these guys, and I can almost guarantee he is interested in many other players, who we haven't heard about yet.

According to a post on Boston.com’s Celtics Blog, the team made contact with Miller’s agent Thursday, the first day of the free-agency period.

"The Celtics are a great franchise," Miller's agent, Mark Bartelstein said. "It certainly a team when they are interested, you're crazy not to listen. Danny and Doc do a great job. Brad loves the way the Celtics play. That's why they get into it all the time.”

that one appears to definitely be true and you have to believe that there is truth to those other rumors, they fit exactly what the C's need. A younger shooter off the bench with decent-good size should definitely be a top priority .

a combo of TA and Miller,Morrow or Redick off the bench would be great.

They're talking about Brad Miller there, not Mike.

At the center spot, they are looking at Brad Miller (who is probably better on the offensive end than at playing D) versus Ben Wallace or Kurt Thomas, but Brad Miller's probably the best  all-around center that's realistically available to us.  I wouldn't read too much into their interest as having any deeper meaning.

I realize that they are talking about Brad Miller. I still think they are very interested in those other players. Why wouldn't they be ? those are likely the only good offensive players the C's will be able to afford . They need offensive punch off the bench.

If they bring TA back, They will be pretty set with defense/hustle guys with BBD, TA, Harongody and whatever other big men they sign. They need some shooters off the bench to even the bench's abilities out.

When Perk gets healthy the C's would have a roster of

PG; Rondo / Vet min
SG: Ray   / Morrow, Miller or Redick (MLE)
SF: PP    / TA
PF: KG    / BBD
 C: PERK  / Miller

that is a very balanced roster with great defense and shooting.

How do you feel about throwing Bradley into the fire for that backup point spot, instead of some minimum guy?

I would definitely give him a shot in the first half of the season. He is supposed to be a lock down defender , so he should be able to keep up on the D end, but I would still like to get a vet min backup like Anthony Carter just in case he is not ready yet .

So far the free agents that the C's are after are very good-great shooters

JJ Redick
Mike Miller
Anthony Morrow
Brad Miller( Not a great shooter , but can stretch the floor like sheed did)

As valuable as pure defensive stoppers are, they are not actually that costly (pure defenders like Quinton Ross types are guys you can develop or find later).  Also, Redick (for one) is not actually a bad defender - he has shown a knack for following Ray Allen around deftly in the playoffs - and he is a high effort, low mistake guy.  You'd never ask Redick to guard Kobe one on one - but he is good at doing his job within a strong team concept.

Game 7 the C's were desperately in need of some offensive punch. When you hold a team to 83 points in a game 7 , you should win that game. They have no lights out shooters off the bench, so for the first time in years I think the C's are going to go after offense rather than defense with the MLE or Sheeds contract.

Well if you play him with TA, TA can also handle the ball. I still wouldn't be opposed to bringing back Nate to bring Bradley along slowly and also get him some time in the back court with Rondo.

Also remember, offensive players off the bench will usually make more money the defensive role players.

Therefor, we hear more about them and the MLE then a defensive role player.
