I like the idea of trying to sign Miller. He can shoot and he's a great rebounder at his position -- and we can use both at the moment. Hopefully, the saturated FA market will make it possible for us to sign him.

He is an unrestricted FA.  He made $9.7M last year....would he sign for the MLE at about $6M...hard to say.

keep ray allen. he wants 8 mill a year for 3 years. i can live with that

agreed. There really is noone that’s better for that money, and we couldn’t sign them anyways because of cap rules.

Ray is worth 8 mil next year but will he be worth 8 mil in the following 2 seasons? If Ray wants to help this team get back to the Finals he needs to take a bigger pay cut so the owners will spend the full MLE this summer.

We gave Sheed 6 mil last year and now we have a guy with a big contract that gives us very little during the regular season. We can't make the same mistake with Ray Allen this time. We can't ruin our future flexibility for an aging  veteran.

While I like the M. Miller idea as the type of player he is, there is a much cheaper version available.  Gordon Hayward of Butler in the draft.  6'9", 83% FT and can score from anywhere.

Draft Hayward, save money for replacements for Sheed if he retires and try and keep T. Allen and possibly Ray Allen if he is cheap.

Celtics need youth to go along with big Perk, Rondo and Big Baby.  Hayward would be cheap, same skill set as Miller and available at the #18th pick.
