Too many shots for one guy

We did not lose the game because Paul took 25 shots.  If anything we lost the game because of Rondo's poor play overall.  Nelson continued to burn him and either scored, got fouled, or hit an open man.  Also our bench didn't give us much tonight.  Paul shot 44% which is pretty good. He was off from 3 and wished he would have taken a few less but I'm fine with everything else.  Plus he was the only one looking aggressive out there outside of Ray towards the end.

Paul Pierce carried the load on offense tonight with 32 points, be he took 25 shots. In the first three games, he took a total of 36 shots and the Celtics won all three. I know that Doc was trying to exploit the matchup with Nelson when Orlando switched, but one player taking 25 shots is just not Celtics basketball, and I just do not think they can win playing this way. Pierce took 1/3 of the Celtics' shots tonight. Those are Kobe/Lebron numbers.

Yup ... it was clear Paul's legs were gone by the 4th, and they should've gone to Ray more when he started to heat up, and attacked the hoop much more than they did. It also made defending us that much easier for the Magic. Rondo was not much of a factor in this one, and he MUST be for us to be successful, but in fairness, there were many times when he would get out on the fast-break, and there'd be no one else with him.

Pierce and Ray were the only starters making any contributions in the second half.  I would have liked to see Ray get the ball a bit more, but giving Paul the ball was the only way we could score at all.

The problem is that Paul got tired.  He ended the game 11-for-25, after starting it 9-for-13.  The reason for that is because he was getting no help from his teammates, beginning with Rondo (who usually carries a huge part of the offensive burden, but was off last night).

Pierce was 5-17 in the second half and overtime. Too many shots taken and not enough made. He was great in the first half, but 5-17 (my guess is he took at least 40 percent of the team's shots in the second half) is not going to get a win.
