You can tell Perk's knee is bothering him a lot. He had it bandaged up pretty good during the game.

But am I the only one impressed with Perk's emerging jumpshot? He has made them pretty consistently these playoffs.

Having a center who can defend like Perk can is invaluable.  The things he does for the team rarely show up in the box score like setting screens and boxing out and just keeping the opposing team from scoring.  But if we didn't have him,  we would be wishing for a player who would do all those things.

perks role for this series to to play defense and rebound, anything beyond that is cherry on the sundae!  frankly, i dont want him shooting, unless it is a put back off a rebound or a quick finish off a good pass to him.  his role is not to score

His offense has really regressed this year.  Last year he was not half bad in the post with his offense.  This year its like he has hands of stone.

His defense more than makes up for his lack of offense.

I would like to see a bit more rebounding, though.

Other than what he did with Howard, I thought that he did a poor job overall defensively. Some good moments contesting shots when he was around the basket, but other than that he was lost quite a few times leading to easy buckets. Davis suffered from the same.

I thought Sheed was our best defender tonight, quite active everywhere. And KG, was like a silent killer. He went largely unnoticed defensively, yet got the job done. Hopefully the Magic overlooked him also.

"Other than what he did with Howard"?  Are you serious man?  Thats his #1 priority.  He did his job exceptionally.  Cut the guy some slack.  He manned up with him with a bum knee.  Perk and Sheed are in his head.

Quite serious. He got lost in transition a few times, he did quite a poor job on Gortat, and also rotated late or not at all to stop penetration quite some other times.

While Howard is his priority, it's not his sole assignment.

Now, if you ask me if he did well considering his knee issues, I can say sure. But there were quite a few mental mistakes that were not to my liking.

And as I said, Davis suffered from the same. Regardless of Howard being there, people can't just let Carter, Redick, Nelson just penetrate uncontested. You got to trust that your other teammates to help you out once you step up.

I just thought his knee limited his mobility and caused him to struggle in pick and roll defense.
