Just stating the obvious. Just like in 2008, Celtics will go as far as Captain takes them. Hopefully he's saving couple of 40point games for the playoffs. Based on his play the last 2 weeks, I'm very optimistic. Captain still has the goods to carry this team.

Go Celtics!!

Paul started really well tonight against the Spurs and he did make an emphasis to continue to drive to the rim.

It's too bad no one else could make any shots other than the occasional KG and Sheldon baskets.

While Paul is my favorite player and is still the Captain and leader of this team, the key to this team winning now is Rondo. He sets the pace and controls movement of the ball. Pierce can still have big games when he sets his mind to it, but if Rondo struggles, this team has a very hard time winning. Tonight Rage had six points and seven assists ... nuf sed. ;)

Nope, It's Pierce. He HAS to get to the line and attack the defense, he needs to command the ball and just take his man. The championship season he did it.

Rondo is definitely #2 in this, but they need to balance the Pierce attack offense, and the Rondo dish offense.

I guess the leadership problem(er, crisis?)could really be the reason of what really ails this team lately. The baton of leadership should really be passed on to Rondo now. Sure, Pierce's production is important but he's so inconsistent and tends to pull the team to play slow and due to these the team suffers and loses focus.

The team must really run under Rondo's cue. The direction of the team play will heavily rely on him.

With the lack of direction and purpose that the offense has exhibited for several months now ...

Yeah, I think Paul Pierce is the key variable to Boston having a legitimate shot at winning a title.

Garnett and Rondo are doing enough for the Celtics to win a title. Paul Pierce is still trying to join them there.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Bahku here. If you go back and watch that game last night you can see the problem. Yes PP hit a couple shots at the first that he worked hard for. We need those. However his response after that was to try and take over himself the rest of that stretch he was in there causing the rest of the team to stand around and watch. Rondo wasn't even bringing the ball up the floor most of that time due to PP getting the ball and heading up the floor to try and create.

This team plays so much better when Rondo is in control of the ball and offense. When he attacks and pushes the ball we play well. When we stand around and watch PP try and create his own shot we don't.

Also agree 100% with Bakhu.  Paul needs to score 20 but Rondo needs to control the game.
