Going to jump right in line with Bahku, Jon, DL, jdpapa and drza. The Celtics problems this year notwithstanding, anything is possible and as at least three other championship teams have shown in the past, you can be at or below .500 from Christmas until St. Patrick's Day and still win a championship.

I have lowered my expectations for this team but I still think it is extremely possible that they put it all together and make an historic run. Boston is a city deep in sports tradition where the unexpected and improbable to impossible happens. 11 championships in 13 years. 0-4 and 1-3 series comebacks. Winning against double digit favorites in a Super Bowl. A perfect regular season. Near impossible late game comebacks. We've seen it all. Why should we expect any less from this group?

If they lose in the first round am I going to be surprised? Hell no. But the window isn't closed unless they lose the last game they play this year and that hasn't happened yet. I think the next 10 game stretch will say a lot about this team. In the mean time I'm going to cheer as hard as I usually do for a victory.

And look at it this way. If they do win it all this year, its going to be even sweeter making the pundits and doubters and haters eat their words about the team being old and Doc being a bad coach.

Nick, you can't come back and start calling people "haters" :p That's not allowed here :p

Harharhar

But I'm going to fall in line with the above post.

Even though we're the underdog for this one, still cheering for the mean Green team.

I've mentioned in a number of threads that the team's their own worst enemy.  their success will mostly be dictated by whether they show up motivated to win.  If focussed and motivated, they can beat anyone.  If they show up unfocussed, they'll get blasted.

the recent run of games looks like they're starting to get down to business.  It's not enough to be sure they're back mentally but if they do well in the road trip starting tonight, it will go a long ways towards relieving some anxiety around here.
