Last chance to re-focus

16 games to go and 10 are against very good competition:
Houston, Dallas, Utah, Denver, San Antonio, OKC, Cleveland, Milwaukee

Perhaps this is the kind of challenge the team needs to get the guys to re-focus or perhaps this will be the nail on the coffin.  One way or the other, if you don’t get up for these games and the final stretch, then you don’t belong.  Period.

What are your thoughts?

We will improve in every game. That's what it's about baby. Getting better everyday.

By the end, if they are good enough for a 'ship, then that'll be great. If not, I'm just gonna enjoy the ride.

Don't set your expectations too high.  They are not going to improve in every game.  I would be shocked if they do not have at least one or two (or more) stinkers left in them.  But at least the general trend is going in the right direction.

Glad you post this subject because after the game last night KG was interviewed by NBA.tv's E.Snow&his xvet.from his early Minny days Sam Mitchell. They both asked KG what is wrong with this team."He said its inconsistency on their part, can't put his finger on one thing in particular. He said the injuries has hindered them some. The season is a long one, that they have to get their swag right and confidence at the right time...they got to be more consistent  these next 16games."

If you have NBA.tv ck today's game time replayed during the day if you want to watch it in its entirity.

E.Snow feels they could still win it all...said this team is built for the playoffs,by having days off in between games this team still has a good chance to win it all. Also he stated the Celtics know this so they probably not as worried as we(fans)are.tp

I guess I just meant they will improve something every game. Like Ive said before Im treating the rest of this regular season like I used to treat the team when they stunk. Look for signs of a light at the end of the tunnel. If they win it's gravy.

It's theraputic for me to think this way otherwise I'd be pulling my hair out.

I just hope they shore up rotations and substitution patterns down this stretch to get ready for the playoffs.  Try and get rid of the bad habits also.

Do that and grab the #3 seed and getting ready for when it really counts.

This might sound a bit strange but to me the Boston Celtics this season have oft resembled the NBA's version of 'Cain and Abel'...

The Celtics and their mascot Lucky the Leprechaun sort of represent veteran talent who may not ever be expected to put up 40+ points on any given night like during their younger years but  still have the experience and the composure to be able to execute in the 4th quarter, in 'big' games, and especially come playoff time where players such as the 'Big 3', Sheed, Finley, and soon to be others have tons of valuable experience that should come in handy as the regular season comes to an end/we prepare for the playoffs.

We might not have players with the athletic ability of an MVP-level talent in their prime, however that alone shouldn't be the deal-breaker in determining whether the Celtics still have the heart of a championship contender inside them. I, for one think that the Big 3 could continue to be highly competitive for the next 2-3 years after this season, but we'll see what happens.

Let's hope 'ole-man KG's' legs don't wear down again before that time because we all have seen how difficult it is to try and win playoff series(s) without him on the floor...  ;)
