I'm wondering why it is that KG and Rondo were out there on the last play? I think that since neither one is really a 3 point threat that perhaps Nate and Finley might have made more sense. Would that not spread the Knicks defense more as well as give the Celtics 2 other options? I don't think rebounding was an issue as they wouldn't have time to miss, get the rebound, kick it out and get a second shot.

I'm certainly not saying that play was the reason they lost the game, I'm just wondering why Doc put those 5 out there. Can someone explain it to me? Thanks.

Rondo is the team's best playmaker and best able to throw the pass on the team to the player in the right spot.

KG sets the best picks on the team and that was his responsibility out there.

The play to Ray just didn't work as the man covering Ray was able to stay with him and deny him the ball. Give props to the Knicks, they defended that play well.

Pretty much.

And lets be honest, the C's did not care one bit about winning that game anyways.

Okay. Fair enough. Thanks. But since Ray couldn't get open, wouldn't it be a good idea to have other options?

Yeah, that was my take.  My biggest worry was that the Knicks would foul whoever caught the inbound pass right away, but not doing so, they at least gave the Cs a fighting chance.  But, of course, the Cs had no fight left.
Celtics fan for life.
